    Get Smart, the pool episode

This is totally random...and I know you guys will think that I'm bs'ing... but I used to know Barbara Feldon (actress who played Agent 99) in the mid-80s. My (divorced) dad dated her for a bit. She was very cool, and still looked good.

What part of the state are you in? I live in Northwest Indiana, and have a guy in South Chicago 'burbs that I like.

Funny! TX Poolnut, that was too funny. Did you just crank that out for this thread or had you written it before?

    Pool and minor back pain

I've seen a number of posts from players on here who unfortunately have serious back problems. Lucky for me, I'm not there yet. However, I have been noticing lately that I'm a little sore while playing, or maybe the next day. I don't have any real back problems, other than the typical "I'm...

Who Will Come To DCP's Lair?

Have you ever played on the olive simonis? That's what I have on my home table, and love it. Easy on the eyes, still in the green family, and goes with many decors.

    Chicago (downtown) Poolrooms

Are you flying into Midway or O'Hare? If it's Midway, you can drive just 10 minutes south on Cicero and go to Pro-Tyme billiards in Alsip. It's on the East side of Cicero, and is a nice room. It's not downtown, and it's not going to be your only spot to hit while in Chicago. But worth...

    Schmelke ? Anyone ??

I just spoke with Dave there about maybe getting a "customized" (I know it's not a custom) one from them. I figured they only had the woods shown on the website, but they have much more. Thinking of getting an ebony one, or maybe going a little crazy and getting ebony into tulipwood forearm...

    Question concerning Pat Diveney

If I had my first custom purchase narrowed down to a Diveney (either a butterfly hustler or one of his regular sneakies), a Josey sp or a Bob Frey sp, which direction would you guys steer me? I'm interested in playability more than resale value, as it will be my daily player.

Someone explain Black Boar prices to me.

I'm almost brand new to custom cues, only having started looking at them six months ago or so when I got my first table. I'm also not much of an economist, having gotten a C in Economics 101 as a freshman in college 20 years or so ago. That being said...here's my two cents: There have been a...

    Schmelke ? Anyone ??

There was a thread on this a few weeks ago, which may be helpful. I'm not saying this in the snarky "why didn't you read up before posting" way, but just telling you in case you want to dig it up. Add me to the list of guys who think that Schmelke makes a great cue for the cash. I have a coco...

What is your LEAST favorite pool game, and why?

Just curious- why do so many of you hate cutthroat? I never thought of it as a serious game, but I think it has it's place. We play it a fair amount on my basement home table when there are three of us, especially with friends/family who don't really play much pool. Never played one pocket...

Great table, great light, and awesome deal. I wish that that deal was around when I bought my table in December.

    Best looking pool table

The Brunswick Ventura is a good looking table. Are you saying that all Diamonds are ugly, or just their furniture-style ones? I like their commercial ones. I have an Olhausen Remington in TMM with a graphite rail. I myself think it's great looking but as people say, looks are subjective.

Best hitting custom in the $300-$400 range?

Thank you all for your input. There are a lot of good options out there. I'll post pics of whatever I end up with.

Best hitting custom in the $300-$400 range?

I'd like to get my first custom in the near future. I want a new plain jane in the $300-$400 range, either coco or BEM with a linen wrap, and one 12.75 mm shaft. Nothing too fancy on the ringwork. Not thinking of it as an investment, but a daily player to use in my basement on my home table...

    BCM cue sale.

I'm not sure if other people have told you this, but you have one of the best cuemaker websites I have seen. Great photos of your finished product and the process.

    Kudos to Schmelke

Did you happen to ask them if there are any other custom combos that you can create? Could you substitute curly maple for the birdseye? I have a coco sp from them, and really like it. I also needed one more house cue, and some people recommended I try one of their one piece house cues. Got...

shot my best pool tonight and I know why... long

Scott- I assume you mean 8/15 and not 7/15? Where in Chicago are you going to be? I live in the area and would love to stop by and see you in action.

    Columbia, SC

Thank you all for your input. The student union is a good call. Also, maybe I'll check out Jillian's. I've been there before for a beer and to watch a game, but never to play.
