Is this a regular 3/8x10 or radial? And one other question

I've never really bothered to figure out what a radial pin exactly is. All I know is that Bill Stroud apparently invented the original radial. Here are a couple pics of the pin: Edit: Just noticed the pics came out slightly blurry. If you need ones with better resolution let me know. My...

What are a few of the best pool ball sets in the $100 to $200 price range?

Looking to purchase a new set, but I'm not sure which are worth the money in this price range. I'm used to playing with the more expensive sets like Aramith Super or Brunswick Centennial from the pool hall but need my own.

SVB cheating? Shaw/SVB Derby 9 Ball

I like Jayson and I like Shane, but this seems like absolute horseshit to claim that Shane was cheating without providing evidence that it was possible to get the balls to freeze perfectly on that table. I've played on tables where it was impossible to get the balls anywhere close to being...

Aramith Action Room Derby City Classic 2018 Updates

Ko Pin Yi was down 14-4 against Dennis Orcollo in the finals of one of those Asian 9-ball tournaments filled to the brim with some of the best players from the Philippines, Taiwan, etc. and Dennis scratched. Yi ran out that game then ran a 10 pack and out to win the tournament 15-14. Not to...

The passing of Jerry Lin, Jerry the Dentist

I've been pretty broken up about it ever since I heard the news. Jerry was a great player, great friend, and just a great person overall.

What's the best method to clean pool balls by hand without designated ball cleaners?

A friend gave me a set but they are quite dirty, most of them have small amounts of gunk on them that won't come off with soap and water. I did a search and there appears to be a bunch of different ways, but I'm wondering if there is a generally agreed upon method that most people prefer.

Is there a list of all TAR matches played and their outcomes?

Haven't been able to find a comprehensive list anywhere. Can someone direct me to one if it exists? Thanks.

Ra Hanna Commentary - Am I The Dinosaur??

I know Ra personally and he's a pretty smart dude. Easy going and interesting to talk to. Ra isn't a pro player but he knows the game well. Beau is definitely a pro, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind you testing his 'ignorance' of pool matching up with him on the green felt.

Is it true that dead balls in the rack would 'always' go with the old clay balls?

I've heard people talk about how clay balls would never skid, and if there was a dead ball in the rack it was truly dead. Does that mean that things like collision induced throw didn't really come into play with this type of material for pool balls? And is it true that they never skidded?

Ko Pin-Yi. Best player on earth.

Alex doesn't play as often anymore but when he commits he's top 5 in the world for best all-around player. He also won the World Championship in 2004 and he went on to win the US Open in 2005.

80's and 90's Strickland and Sigel--who had a better record against the other?

I'm talking about 9-ball tourneys only. I know that Mike is nine or ten years older than Earl so he might have reached his prime before Earl became a world beater. During the 80's and 90's Mike was still playing a lot, so they must have clashed against each other quite a few times.

An Open Discussion about an improper Banning

I second what TATE said, Russ is a great person all around. I stopped posting on this site a long time ago and coming back I'm surprised that this ban system is still biased and makes no sense sometimes. Russ was being helpful to another member, and RKC with his massive ego chimes in and tells...

How Would You Shoot The 7?

I like stroking the ball in with low left, spinning off the side rail towards the 8 and leaving yourself in the center of the table. Edit: Looked at the diagram again and the 8 ball is closer to the rail than I originally thought. If the 1-rail high inside shot is there I might shoot it, or I...

Gambling 9 ball Debate...need your thoughts

My bad Frank, rereading my post, it's kinda ambiguous and confusing to what event in OP's story I'm referring to, and people are getting the exact opposite idea of what I was trying to say. I didn't say the player who pocketed the 9 in the wrong pocket fouled. I said the other player fouled by...

Gambling 9 ball Debate...need your thoughts

The 9-ball spots again, and player A has ball in hand for player B illegally moving the cue ball (picking it up thinking it was ball in hand). The game wasn't over at that point. Since they are friends, they could have agreed to play the last game over again from the start in the name of good...

Did Yang Ching Shun retire from pool?

When he was playing a lot in the mid 00's I thought he was the best player on the planet, especially after he gave Dennis Orcullo a thrashing in those two long-race format money games. I also heard that he beat Busta pretty soundly in an after-hours match back at one of the WPC's years ago. Does...

To all the Mike Dechaine Nay-Sayers.

The gap in ability is wider than you think IMO. When Mike starts traveling around the world constantly and playing all of those tough international tournaments, then seeking out and gambling with the best players in the world in Taiwan and the Philippines, and has a bunch of major titles under...

Questions about action in Vegas in July between the Filipino and Taiwanese pros

When I arrived, I just caught the end of Orcullo arguing with the Taiwanese players after losing a money game to one of them. I think the bet was supposed to be a few thousand, and after Dennis lost, he kept insisting that he did not bet that much. I think it was a simple communication breakdown...

Young player gets a lesson in sharking.

At 6:40 Bobby clearly doesn't hit a rail when he attempts to play safe, and Mike walks to the table immediately after and doesn't say anything, and it looks like nobody else noticed it either. Not calling a foul on yourself on something so obvious as that speaks volumes about this guy's...
