Likewise. I bought the full day pass based on the advertised 9-ball matches starting 1 hour ago. Pretty lame, I definitely would have passed on the morning/afternoon session if I'd have known it was straight pool and not starting when advertised.

You might look into the Gabriels Signature Pro. I'm not sure if they still make them, or who the U.S. distributor is, but they're generally considered to be high quality tables. I strongly considered one ~5 years ago but ended up with a 7' Pro Am. FWIW, here's a link to one that was for sale...

Given that this isn't even televised live in the U.S., I'd imagine they're mostly concerned with ratings in the U.K. and Europe where it's on cable/satellite television. Are the European fans put off by watching their boys trample all over the U.S.? I'd guess that they probably revel in it...

Does anybody know how the all-around ended up? Alex won, but what about 2nd and 3rd?

Alex had a touchy cut on the 2 ball to try to hold position for the 3 and he hung it up. Left Shane a hanger and that was that.

For us local STL folks, is there reserved seating to be purchased? General admission? I think it's fantasitc that you're getting these big matches & tournaments going; it's great for pool and for the local crowd.

I tend to think of it terms of playing the ghost. I.E. going from beating the 7 ball ghost consistently to beating the 8-ball ghost would be 1 ball. I suppose you could also think of it in terms of getting/giving weight.

I also have serious doubts about your story and supposed professor. If true, your Sports Psychology professor should be trained in research ethics and methods. If this was truly intended to be an "experiment" as you state, it's methodologically poor, and, of course, not even an experiment...

This is very cool, thanks for posting! I had a few great nights at Buddy Guy's when I was a bit younger and first getting into music beyond top 40 stuff; this will certianly bring back some memories.

Bottom rail if I remember correctly. He used a fair amount of outside as well.
