The reason for the distinction is the fact that they are completely different strokes More accurate descriptions allows discussions to be about the specific stroke And not discussing 2 different things thinking the other poster is discussing the one they are discussing as happened in this...

those are examples of STROKE SLIP not slip stroke where the grip hand goes backwards faster than the cue and grabs it farther back and goes forward
