Jayson Shaw victim or defeated foe

No chance. Even Shaw said he knew Earl was shooting the 10. It's bad all around. A win on a technicality like that is bs but so is the way the whole match went down.

Magic chalk 50% off - huge sale

    I need 2 more boxes... 13.50? Unless you'll offer me 3 for 20. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong here...

Maybe I'm just confused here but why would you push and hit the lowest ball? The only reason I can think of is if you make it, but would there be any other reason if you have a shot on your ball?

    9-Ball on the spot. Why?

They do it by points in the leagues I'm in. Each ball is worth a point and 8 ball is worth three points. They take the total amount paid into the league divided by how many points were scored in the league and you get so much per point. The only way not to get paid in our league is to literally...

    Fargo Rating? Valley vs Diamond

I don't know how it's figured but it absolutely should matter. There is a big difference between a 7ft Valley and a 9ft Diamond. Even a terrible player like myself can get out a fair amount on a 7ft Valley.

    Earl Strickland

You guys act like he got roasted. Set wise he kind of did but 3 of those six sets were 9-8 9-8 9-7. Of course he might have lost a step since his prime but Earl can still hang with most of them if he can win the battle against himself.

    Any Daz vs earl updates?

Game 35 was the first BnR. There have been some big shots this match.

Is pool the most difficult sport for an Amateur to turn Pro?

What are we classifying as a pro player? It's easy to tell in other sports but when it comes to pool what is a pro? If I decide I can live off $1,500 a month and hit all the bar tournaments I can and that's all I do would I be considered a pro since it's my main source of income? Most...

    Shot Clock In League Play??

This. I know most of the league locations around here would love us to take 16 minutes a game because that means we are there longer on what's normally a dead night. That being said we don't have any leagues Friday or Saturday because they have no problem keeping the bars full on those days.

Safety after the break 8 ball BCA rules & groups

Exactly. You don't call a pocket when you play a safety so therefore it's not a legally pocketed ball. Had you called the pocket it would still be your shot. You can't call 2 different shots in one go.

    balance rite

I didn't bother sending mine back, but I had the same problem. I didn't realize it until someone (maybe you) mentioned it awhile back. I went out that night and threw it on and sure enough it raises like crazy, it gave my teammates a good chuckle. Ever since then I've been using the 2 in one...

Newsheriffintwn's stuff is amazing. I got a jump handle and an extension from him and everything is great.

    More Break Cue talk

I don't have much to add but I know a pretty well known cue maker that breaks with something like a 15oz cue but his shooter is probably around the same. I love my McDermott Stinger shaft for jumping but other than that I haven't found a cue that really makes my break any better than normal.

Bemoaning the rise of the bar box

I can think of 1 other "sport" other than pool. I use to be big into bowling before blowing out my knee. Almost any serious bowling could get a PBA card but the money in amateur bowling was better. Jeremy Sonnenfeld helped me get better at bowling and he never went pro because he could make good...

    VNEA rules question

My first year of VNEA we had to use those stupid patches but nobody in league did. Get to state and they require it. I was an idiot and lost my first match that way and didn't forget the rest of the tournament. That being said I don't know why you would have to patch an obvious straight in shot...
