Cochrane’s in SF for sure- The most perfect pool hall ever- 2 entrances, either Golden Gate or Market St, up the stairs and thru the double doors. It was like walking into a movie set for a old movie from the 40’s. Huge with even the 6 X 12 snooker table. I loved this place.

I understand this is old post and I’m an old guy. I loved Cochrane’s and the Palace also. This is where I started about 65-66. Cole Dickson wasn’t old enough to drive and he often rode over with me. Great memories.

The but cap looks too white (different material) and too square-ish for a Tad.

Not 100% true- I own, and there are many early Tad’s without serial numbers…and this is confirmed by Fred.

The but cap, bumper and screw look funny to me ? I’ve owned 6-7 Tad’s.

My shooter became a bottom end McDermott butt worth maybe $40 w an OB Classic shaft. It’s light and I love the feel. I’ve often believed the shaft, tip and ferrule are most important. I’ve only been playing 60 years, so maybe I learn something in the next 20 years.

Think the break is too important anyway. Maybe that’s because I don’t have a great break ?

Also remember- Fred had nothing to do with these early 60‘s early 70’s Tad cues- If he’d been born, mighta swept the floors ?
