    Minnesota Fats!

I saw San Jose Dick give my brother Calvin a good whoppin on the 4 x 8 playing 9-ball back in 1973, then they played snooker and broke even, and Calvin had just beat the Canadian snooker champion the week before, so yes Dick played all games pretty well. David Harcrow

I like the " It's George" tip tapper, scuffer and tip shaper, maybe a little to heavy for a key chain, but it certainly is the best for all purposes. David Harcrow

Bar Table Hall of Fame Inductee's These are about all I can think of, maybe Jay Helfert can add some player's from the 70's off the west coast that he remembers, I know I didn't get them all. I certainly hope we can get a BTHF setup, all these players deserve some recognition for their play...

Why isn't there a bar table hall of fame

All the players that have been mentioned in this thread deserve to be in the Bar Table Hall of Fame, the ones I have listed are just the ones I personally watched play, for there are many, many deserving of this honor. Matlock vs Keith

Jam, that sure was a great photo, a few names are wrong though, like the guy standing besides Danny Cook on the top row is Floyd Trice from Little Rock, and the guy listed as Tommy Kennedy on the bottom row is Jimmy Sanders from Shreveport, all other names seem to be right. I remember that day...

    Matlock vs Keith

Billy I know you have a great memory , but Country Calvin won the 1987 Steve Gumphry Memorial, double dipping Brian Atchley in the final, the tournament with the Photo of the players, as a matter of fact Calvin won the first two they had , with pretty much the same players in both of them...

Why isn't there a bar table hall of fame

I agreed pt109, this thread is about those head & shoulders above other bar table players during the 70's - 90's that made a living playing pool, and deserve being recognized as such in a Bar Table Hall of Fame! David Harcrow

Why isn't there a bar table hall of fame

Thats right Fred, most all the poolrooms in the south at the time and even now consisted of all bar tables with maybe just one or two big tables, and most of the 9-Ball action during that time was in the south. David

Why isn't there a bar table hall of fame

Your right John, I forgot Paul Turner, he was a monster on the bar box, he told me once while at a tournament at the Rack in Memphis that he ran 26 racks of 9-Ball on the bar box gambling the night his mother died, he was in the middle of about a 10 rack run then practicing when he told me this...
