Moving to a heavy playing cue

Go for it all. Add 7 oz. It has to be better.

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

For a little more clarity, at least a year before Ray passed, Noel Mendoza took over the cue making responsibilities. Terry Trim had already taken over the business for the most part, and Ray was allowed to relax and smoke a cigar all day. So when Ray passed, that’s when Noel started signing the...

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

I would add Dennis Dieckman to those two, but I agree that they were the most well known for making carom cues. All of them eventually made more pool cues than carom cues. And for sure, Ray’s carom offerings were popular globally, because carom was global compared to pool at the time. I...

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

He would have hated me. I probably have twelve or more non-Schuler shafts for my Schulers.

World 14.1 Champion and Runner-Up WPA World 9-ball (johnny archer) and probably in my top 3 Most Underrated Cuemaker of all time.

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

Please stop doing this. Or delete your post when you get the right information. The cue build and ownership was the same just prior to and after Ray passed. Terry Trim was owner, and the Mendozas were building the cues. Probably the biggest changes to Schuler cue happened when Ivan Lee...

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

Interestingly, I have a Schuler low deflection shaft from after Ray passed, and it’s laminated. But I don’t believe it has a hole. I’m guessing the Trims and Mendozas were experimenting and didn’t yet know about end mass and thought it was just the lamination. That’s unfortunate that the low...

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

This is not true. Ray was building many more shafts for pool than carom. Not even close. Simply because there was a bigger market for pool cue. But he built carom shafts because he was a carom player, and in carom circles his cues would be the go to for many North American carom players...

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

Jacoby has offered contract cue building for quite some time, as do other cue builders, especially the ones with lots of flexible machinery (CNC controlled). So, the reason was simple: it’s exactly part of their business model. It had very little to do with getting into the carom market.

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

Ray had at least 5 major tapers as standard, with over a dozen (maybe much more) stored as all his shafts were turned on a CNC lathe. The major tapers are marked accordingly on his shaft with code letters.

Who built Schuler cues after Ray Schuler passed away, and were they good quality cues?

I wrote the InsidePOOL article on Schuler Cues shortly after Ray passed, and interviewed everyone at the shop during my visit. Prior to Ray passing, Noel was already the lead cuemaker. Ray signed the cues, but Noel started playing around with signing. When Ray passed, Noel continued being...

Are Corey and Melling the 2 best at dissecting an 8 ball rack ever?

My own wrong opinions is that the best 8-ball I've seen are: SVB Dennis Orcullo Efren In that order for me. I really haven't seen enough of Niels, Thorsten, Ralf, Fedor, and Filler play a lot of 8-ball even though know they can all play it very well. There were very few pro 8-ball tourneys...

Don't do this either. Sigel 100% made his custom cues. But Sigel also imported Sigel production cues.

I assume you mean “if they still…” Predator’s deflection testing system is called Iron Willie, in homage to Willie Mosconi as well as golf’s Iron Byron.

Yes. Lol! It trends towards 2 syllables, if that makes sense. If you sound out all the vowels quickly enough, it would sound awfully close to 2 syllables even if you trying to do 3 syllables. Similar to Ruiz trending to 1 syllable (Rweeth)

Only soft C and Z are pronounced in most of Spain as a th (per what they call Distinción). Any S that you might hear as a th is a bit not traditional (what they call Ceceo - which is only in a few regions in Spain. Is Jonás from one of those regions. I wouldn’t have thought so. It is funny...

That’s good. Did he tell them how to pronounce his first name??? Maybe I’m being too presumptuous, but Jonás would be pronounced: ho NAS in Spanish. Not: YO nus like that interview just said.

She had her breakout on TV. She starred in the reboot of the Addams family franchise as the titular character ‘Wednesday.’ That was a Netflix “tv” series. She was also the lead in the reboot of Beatlejuice. She also has been in a handful of other films in the last few years on Netflix.
