It was not modified. That info is not quite correct. Meuccis used (at least) 4 different threads. Those you mentioned *and 1/2-13. Roughly I think the sequence was 3/8-16 (from Originals days), then 1/2-13, then the old fine 5/8-18 hex grub cap screws, then the current "Everlock" coarse...

I don't have tools to machine a hex bolt head into angled circular screw head. The drive type is not the problem (flathead or allen hex key, etc). If I had a lathe I could just machine the inner buttplate surface flat instead. I ordered the screws in the Ebay listing. They should be good...

It has to be circular head countersunk *screw to match the angled surface inside the buttplate. Like the geometry in the Ebay image, not a hex head *bolt. The results in McMaster filtered link look OK but they don't have 1/2-13 thread. Apparently this is a rare pattern for this type of...

Too much work plus it's the wrong thread. The thread is in fact 1/2"-13. I'll use the 1.25" screw in the Ebay listing, it's long enough to grab 4 threads. I would have preferred longer. Can also machine down the buttplate internally so screw sits deeper. Again, too much work. Questionable...
