Shooting Draw with LD Shaft vs. Normal Shaft

I wonder if this is why the phillipino's (and most pro's) shoot so low. I know that some of it is to arrive at the center of the ball all the time, but this sounds like a cogent explanation of their convention. Thoughts ? tim

Would anybody out there be willing to trade a "monster" Tasc or Showman for a Ginacue

You sure gone crazy! NO WAY would I let one of those go. Those cues are called one thing. RETIREMENT! tim

Opinions on the LUCASI HYBRID CUES

Let me put you out of your misery. Fit and finish is absolutely fine. You can beat the snot out of them and they do quite well. I wish some of my $1000 cues could say that! Despite having a qr joint, it hits great. The shaft is a predator, just with 8 pie pieces instead of 10. same hit...

    Lucasi Hybrid

I think you'd love it. I have one. Several in my league have them. Similar to a predator shaft. Take a look at the ebay store for Nielsen's Billiards. A beautiful black one with a break stick and case is about $280. Good deal. tim

    Great Collets -shaft -butt -joint

I use the ebay collets. Nice, but boy, they are soooo stiff. They always leave a ring on the shaft. I'd prefer the thinner plastic ones. Of course, that was until my cat decided to hide them on me. tim

    OB-1 or 314-2

Royce, I could just scream. Ugh. After going through a ferrule replacement on an USS shaft, I started thinking, "gee, wouldn't it be cool if OB put a small ferrule outside of the wood ferrule....." talk about reading my mind, tim

    Universal shaft

We just did a replacement. THere isn't that much ferrule material on the uncapped LS, so you can pretty much use whatever you'd like and be fine. We drilled out a piece of old Micarta and it works fine. Any other modern, non ivory material should do fine. tim

    chuck starkey titlist conversion

Nice to have front weight. However, I just put some weight in the back of one of Chuck's regular wood screw cues with that old style taper of his. Lights out one pocket or 14.1 cue. Just lights out. tim

    Wanted: Predator cue for 200-300

If you can find a sneaky for that price, fine. Unfortunately, second hand Predator shafts are going for $160-200, so you are up against it a bit. I would consider this. Look at the Lucasi Hybrids. Same technology. Made in the same factory in China. At Nielsen's Billiards, $280 gets you a...

    Best shaft predator or ob

One thing that no one has mentioned, or just slightly, is that ANY shaft still is a reflection of the butt that it is fitted to. I've tried pretty much all of them and prefer the 314's to just about anything. I did like the ob2, though. Royce is just a very classy guy and anything he's...

I can't argue with the theory, but in practice, unless there are rules of practice, anything tends to go. And we all don't want to "out" someone , so I see right of return as the only way to preserve good transactions. And if you reaaaaaalllly wanted a particular cue.......well, you know how...

Shenanigans Troy. Your statements dont make much sense. Based on your comments, you sound like a politician spitting crap out of their mouth. Stick to common sense. If the worst issue is someone losing their sale for the cost of a return shipment, there is no issue. The purchasers right of...

Joe I don't mind the folks who support the community either. I'm just saying that clear standards should be established. And definitely policies concerning sales. If a buyer doesn't think an item was properly described, they should have the right to return, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. I still have an...

Where does one draw the line ? "Online business" ? Exactly what does that constitute ? Several parties here sell many cues and have websites. Does this policy apply to them? The lack of standards of practice for sales here is a joke. Which is why I will probably never purchase a cue from...

    My thoughts on Dennis Hatch.......

While other players may have let this event become something less than important to them, Dennis brought their focus back very quickly. He helped make some five plus hours of pool each day pass very quickly. Nevermind the idea that aside from a few less than perfect safes, he played nearly...

My reflections on the Mosconi Cup

Hands down, O was an integral part of this team. He never showed a lot of emotion and was everyone's rock. And besides, he was to us all what he was to Dennis. He's like this stuffed animal that you just want to hug and give a rub on the head to. He's like a younger Jay Helfert. They just...

Mosconi Cup: Post up the funny/interesting/embarrassing moments

So sorry. I have you all beat. Even Sunny. First day, I figured that all the AZers would do a toast with me, but none were to be found. After getting in line early and no food for bfast, I did the toast myself. $20 a round for a double! So, here I am on the corner seat as they walked in...
