CSI banned me from BCA state tournament due to a google review

That looks a lot nicer than the cheap nameless plaques they award the winners.

CSI banned me from BCA state tournament due to a google review

The CSI payouts are insulting to say the least. If you win a division with <50 people in it you are paid $1000. If you win a division with 200 paid entrants, you are paid $1000. You also win the bonus of a 1099, so a third of that gets stolen. The events can still be fun but keep in mind they...

"Lock and load" the shoulder to control movement?

Currently, my business is demanding all of my time so pool is taking a back seat. My Fargo is still over 600, so I wouldn't say I suck. I'm out of stroke so my mechanics need to be reset. The couple times a week I can spare 20 minutes or so is not as well spent as it would be if I was able to...

"Lock and load" the shoulder to control movement?

I will check that out Dr Dave. I only get to hit balls a couple times per week and every time I get to the table I feel like I'm starting over. Where did I hold my shoulder last time? Did it just hang or did I shrug a bit? Perhaps I pulled it back that day I was hitting them really well. Where...

    US Open 08/18-23

I do not get the chance to watch Sky very often but the matches I have caught this year were almost all underwhelming. I'd rather watch Billy currently. It was good to see Payne get a win over a world-class player, too.

    best cue tip tool

I have one of these. https://www.abearth.com/collections/accessories/products/ab-earth-cuboid-8-in-1-aluminum-pool-cue-tip-repair-tool-t18?variant=43878873268377 Cheap and effective. I am sure there are other methods but this is how I have use it and have never touched a ferrule with the...

Are Gold Crown Tables Still Being "Diamondized?"

GCs play great. My GC4 was awesome but I sold it when I moved and bought a Diamond at our new place. Not sure how it happened but the new Diamond plays nearly identical to the GC. It even banks the same which is a new one to me. No adjustment whatsoever. Maybe you need new/different rubber on...

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

I don't recall a rack with an angle to it. Does it sit on the balls and not the cloth? The racks we use are less than 1/4" thick, giving a bit more freedom in break-out ball location to the balls.

Templates vs usual wooden racks and break balls

I have only played in one room that had the outline on the cloth. Even then, it was only one one table. Those thick wooden racks from Diamond changed the game with how many break balls were in the way of the rack. The old Brunswick racks were very thin and the best for 14.1 back in that day imo.

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

Fedor has something to prove in this match, Shane does not imo. Yeah, he can try to show he still has it, but he's done nearly everything he wanted to do in the game. Fedor wants redemption -and to sell stuff. With a win here he sells more. I'm only half joking with this one. I cannot begin to...

What does a good stroke feel like?

Same. A friend sent me a copy and I didn't absorb it like others have. Same with the Pleasures of Small Motions book. It could be that I am too dense for any of it to sink in.

What does a good stroke feel like?

Can't describe it but I know it when it happens. Sadly, not often enough.

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

If I owned a pool room it would without a doubt be playing on most TVs all 3 days. I have time to watch maybe 3-5 racks per day as things are so no, not buying it.

Van Boening vs. Gorst 10-Ball Race to 120, Rematch June 2025 -- General Comments Thread

I heard they are starting earlier today than they did last year. Anyone have any info?

Anyone notice the quality of major brands of tips going down?

I haven't been playing lately but used a friend's cue while I was visiting AZ last week. It had a Lepro on it and it was fantastic. I have heard they are hit or miss but that one was a hit. I use duds exclusively and I imagine that is why I never got a bad tip. The guys who press know which...

Oh noooooo, its a 'Polar Vortex'!!!!!.....;)

You staying warm or what? Here in TN we had flooding over the weekend, then snow, and now cold. Should be single digits overnight today and tomorrow. Our dogs love it. Originally from northern IL, so no biggie for us but the locals... Local schools are closed due to 2" of snow. People are...

    Dechaine vs Krause

Finally had time to watch the match. That was extremely high- level play from start to finish. I was very impressed by Mike's ability to grind through a tough rack after sitting in his chair watching his opponent catch a gear and decimate his seemingly insurmountable lead. That was a display...

    Dechaine vs Krause

Mickey's game jumped up an entire level last year. He is now hanging with the elite pros. Prime Mike would be a good game but he's going to need some major rolls to make this a close match today imo. I wish him the best. I truly would like to see him get back into form and rededicate himself...

    Quiet Eye Theory

Exactly this for me as well. I can tell when this happens. If I accelerate too quickly, my head must move ever so slightly and that spot on the OB becomes blurry for that fraction of a second. When I focus on a slow start to the forward stroke this never happens. It's frustrating that I cannot...
