Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I've tried breaking with my AirRush shaft and it feels miserable. Jump shafts are so stiff the CB deflection can be pretty crazy. (Considering jumping is literally just deflecting the CB) Obviously different for cues designed to do both, which in my experience work very well.

    WPA Bans 245 Players

Cost of entry is different for different sports: Soccer and basketball are extremely low. Hockey, pool, golf, and motorsport are high. Could be more questions than answers regarding pool specifically though.

    Thoughts on Pattern Racking/Rack Manipulation?

You haven't tried getting a tight rack in one of our local pool halls... usually need to settle for "tight enough" and it's impossible to be consistent.

    Guys who never sell cues

Had this recently selling a snowmobile: Guy on the forum told me i was a lunatic for asking so much and he'd consider if it was posted lower. Then make an offer??? (crickets) You can always lower your price, you'll rarely (if ever) be able to increase it. Anyone that's ever sold anything knows...

    Thoughts on Pattern Racking/Rack Manipulation?

Adjacent question: Does anyone know if the racking widget SVB and Fedor were using in their $$$$$$$ match is/will be published? I've found that especially with ball return tables it can be tough to randomly rack everything (humans are inherently not random). Plus it's a cool concept.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I guess i never noticed, but DAMN you're right. This shaft is thick af (13.5mm)... The Players is even thicker (13.85mm). Could be because they're J/B cues, but they're about the same shaft profile/diameter as my AirRush.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

While i wouldn't call a good break cue a waste of money, I'd definitely say they're overpriced and the concept of a break butt is a little suspect (aside from maybe being grippier?). 100% want to keep that kind of wear/tear off my playing cue and breaking with a soft tip just doesn't work as...

Rhino as a Backup Break Shaft

Funny thing is i had a Samsara on this shaft before the Kamui SAI. Really liked it, but the layers started delaminating after about a month. Had to shave a bunch off, then about a month later started doing it again.

Rhino as a Backup Break Shaft

So i picked up my shafts yesterday (new Kamui SAI on the Revo, Samsara on the wood J/B). Talked to the guy that did the install for a bit and he said that he's back to using Loctite gel on break cues (same as he's always done with playing cues). He said the 2-part was JB-Weld (i'm not sure...

    WPA Bans 245 Players

I prefer either the 6-spot or minimal markings (Aramith logo, Brunswick Blue Circle, etc). I've played with some that have 1 giant red spot on them (not sure of brand) and it's just distracting. I like it not so much for how i'm hitting it, but how it comes off cushions or other balls. Think of...

I really like the 6-spot cueball. Gives me a better visual of what it's doing. I keep my Tournament Black CB in my case and use it everywhere i go. Not a huge fan of the appearance of the Arcos II balls, but i've never played with them either.

Can we at least agree that the black-freckled cueball is better than the measles cueball? (For the love of god though, anything but a CB with a single f-ing dot on it...)

Rhino as a Backup Break Shaft

He's only done this tip and a playing tip for me. The person gluing the tip on has been different nearly every time. My confusion is that there's no real correlation. Different tips, shafts, ferrules, glues, people. Only common theme is break tips.

Rhino as a Backup Break Shaft

Honestly not sure. I don't break that hard. Maybe a little above average, but I'm not smashing it like some players. I've had bad luck with break tips in general. Across 3-4 cues, maybe a dozen different tips: delamination, popping off, chipped a phenolic, and had the silencer pad come off my BK...

Rhino as a Backup Break Shaft

Sooo i blew the tip off my break shaft...again... The guy i've been going to even uses 2 part epoxy on break tips and i still managed to throw it. At least the SAI itself has held up and performed well. Getting a fresh SAI put on the BK shaft and maybe a phenolic on my old Players J/B cue. The...

That was the only shot so far that i expected to fall, but didn't Table is looking really good. Hopefully no ejector-seat shots like Alcaide's 7 last year (as comical as that was as a viewer...).
