European Open 2025, Sarajevo, March 11-16

Looks like some of the top players are having trouble getting going. FSR missed 2 nines yesterday after coming out hot, Styer is struggling also. Hope to rewatch Shane's matches, sounds like he's rolling.

Is Might get me Kickoff or Ban from AZBilliards... But I question Bob Jewett Post about value of books????

Comparing to the user's older posts (and reputation) this looks like a compromised account. Admins should probably act on that.

Get off my lawn, Things I hate in pool today

I think a reasonable argument could be made that with modern tech we'd see snooker get "easier". At least for players that are already actually good. Playing with a modern carbon shaft with a decent tip instead of a hunk of ash with a piece of wallet on the end... Isn't pyramid played with...

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

Get off my lawn, Things I hate in pool today

Weight is one of the reasons i don't bother with really nice cases. I see it as a consumable that's there to protect my cues and should be replaceable if it gets banged up (i still take really good care of it). Just need it to be clean and decent looking and hold all the junk i carry around.

I always carry a QClaw because of this. Even if they do have them they're often horribly positioned (too close to the table) or I don't trust them to not scratch up my shafts.

A solid poke from anything smaller than a 13mm shaft would kabob the cue ball.

Fun tidbit about TouchTunes: It has a "mood" you can change with 1-2 tracks if no one else is actively playing. If you play a couple tracks in similar genre it'll stick there. "Cemetery Gates" always seems to do it for me. ✊🤘

It would be really cool to see some unknown local make a run. Unlikely, but would be neat.

How many still have the first cue they ever bought?

My first (Players) is the only cue I no longer own. I even have the Ozone 2x2 case I bought for my first Predator in 2010 (I'll never part with that cue). Chronological from left to right. Played with the SP and Players J/B for 15 years before buying another cue. You could say things escalated...

It would be like the cartoon bullet ricochet: Everyone hit the deck! Only a matter of time before it flies off the table. If anyone around here is good with the physics simulators, it would be neat to see a pinball pool table. See how quickly that gets out of hand.:ROFLMAO:

I've seen loads of complaining about the deep shelves. Just makes the tables more speed sensitive.

It's just complaints about fast+tight tables.

    WNT and WPA. Frazer says…

Manis has been holding his own against world class players when I've seen the matchups. I think he beat Biado last fall, or at least came close. The kid is really really good.

    Different Taper

I think we're already seeing that with the major manufacturers. I've noticed a lot of the more modern cues seem to be designed around the black carbon shaft. At least for my Preds most of the new cues look weird with a wood shaft and my more traditional butts look terrible with carbon. Maybe...

    Cue replacement

For the jump/break, I highly recommend both Players and J&J for quality and affordability.

Am I blind or is Fedor not on the list? Going to go cross-eyed rereading this over and over...

    Fight or flight

More pressure is just as likely to make things worse as it is to make them better. There's a point where brute force isn't productive anymore and you need help wrapping your brain around itself. It's not as simple as more experience or higher stakes solving the problem when often that will just...
