thank you for sharing! the whole of it is wonderful, but the shot at 3:10 is just jaw-dropping.

Snooker with a 15-second shot clock

thank you for sharing, Bob, wasn't aware of this. that said... yuck, what an awful idea. but so in keeping with these zero attention span times in which we live. oh yeah: and you kids get the hell off my lawn.

Who's your favorite pro to watch that helps your game?

Chris Melling, hands down. Morra a good second. and Ronnie as a 3rd only because it's a slightly different discipline.

    The stroke.

man, i feel for you; i fought this problem So hard for 5 years... on video i could clearly see that i was "clutching" my arm into my body. i agree with Neil: change your stance. for me, i had to abandon what Mark Wilson calls the conventional stance and go to a semi-snooker stance, feet almost...

best pool tabe cleaning method ?

handheld vacuum with rotating brush turned off. then wipe with wet microfiber cloth, don't care what direction, but thoroughly, that picks up a lot. then use the other side of the cloth to do the rails and pockets. i do this about once a week. cloth looks like new afterwards, and the rack sits...

How often do you scuff your tip?

not being condescending -- just sayin' when i miscue, i know it's my stroke, i'm not blaming it on my tip not being scuffed. i saw Ralf Souquet scuff his tip once after a miscue. other than that, i don't recall seeing a pro scuff a tip, and i've seen a lot of pro pool with a reasonable dose of...

Straight Pool Challenge High Run Updates?

i didn't say anything about "giving up on 14.1"! what i said was if this kind of thing continues, i would be disinclined to start giving money to the DCC Challenge.

Straight Pool Challenge High Run Updates?

Bob, i'm sure you and others on site are enormously disappointed by this outcome. i'll just reinforce -- in case you think others don't care -- that those of us following along at home are also upset. i only lost a $40 contribution to TvMike and the chance to watch some straight pool...

How often do you scuff your tip?

as a large number of others with a clue and a stroke have said: NEVER. not even after a (rare) miscue. chalk does it all, you don't need all the hocus pocus. if you miscue after chalking, it's not the tip; it's you.

    Joint Protectors

i got into the habit of jp's because my Lucasi has a quick-release joint that will jam if it gets the Tiniest piece of dust in it. i have them on my other cues as well, but... ...i have never seen any pro using jp's, and i've seen a lotta pro's play live. which should tell you all you need to...

    Must have items

nope, ya don't need that crap i haven't scuffed a tip in 5 years, through multiple tips, and they're perfect dimes. if you chalk right, You Do Not Need That Crap. if you chalk like Dechaine, then yeah, you're gonna need help. agree on Tom's tips 100%.

    Must have items

all you need is a stroke. the rest of that stuff is nonsense which distracts you from this.

    I have a tip question.

as PT 109 points out, if you chalk properly, you never need to reshape your tip. NEVER. i rotated between Moori soft & medium and Everest Mediums for a while, and now use Searing Precision Medium. i have a Willard dime tool and haven't used it in 5 years, playing 3 hours a day. if you chalk...

My first video share (100 balls w/12 misses)

pepper, you've had sage advice from at least 4 100-ball runners that i know, and one 200-ball runner. Steve (sparkle) is one of them. for a guy who usually runs single digits, you seem remarkably resistant to the suggestions they're giving you -- and which you asked for. you say they're dissing...

Which is the best shaft cleaner?

i use the same method as every pro you've ever heard of. [hint: see wildwing, koop, and greyghost above]
  20. wigglybridge

What tool do you use to flatten the ferrule when changing the tip?

sandpaper on the floor. cheapest solution, works fine. certainly better than those gizmos which are even perpendicular to the shaft center.
