    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

I have a Rhino and I don't use a glove, I find it too slick. I'm not like some of those guys, but I do keep a microfiber cloth on my pool bag with CF. Sometimes it gets feeling sticky and I give it a good wipe down. I guess I do with wood also but CF seems to collect grime faster. It's easy to...

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

I've been 100% serious in my replies. Honestly if you're able to BNR even 25% of the time with BIH, you're probably 650+ Fargo and I have no advice. You're magnitudes better than me. The thing is though, and I mean this absolutely respectfully, with the other issues you're having and the...

    THE Magic Rack

Want to know a secret? The Outsville seems to be cut in a way where you can rotate it and use the bottom hole as the top. Rotate it 180 degrees once the front hole is wore out and it's basically a new rack. Sure it looks odd with the arrows pointing the wrong way, but the printed on...

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

So you can run a cosmo 30-40% of the time, or how often? Cosmo layouts only happen maybe 20% of the time. The rest you have to work your ass off for and you can still have a run ending error even on the most simplest out. Simplest out... there is no thing, as mythical as a unicorn!

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

See I must be some kind of masochist because I'll get in safety battles with myself for several minutes and eventually get so annoyed I'll force myself to shoot fliers. It practices patience and focus, which can sometimes be the difference in a set. Some of these shenanigans last for way longer...

    THE Magic Rack

The thickness of the rack causes the balls to not just be frozen, but actively pressing against each other. This isn't how a normal behaving rack should be. Frozen is frozen, pressing against each other with some additional force isn't correct. Pre-loaded will make a rack fly apart explosively...

    THE Magic Rack

That's the correct one. A word of warning, the magic rack is the original but it has issues. The material is thick enough that it will cause roll offs if you don't take it off after the break. It is also thick enough that the balls are not simply frozen, but "pre-loaded" against each other. This...

Are Gold Crowns Still Being "Diamondized?"

I'm not entirely qualified to explain this but I'll try. When breaking there are three main objectives. The first is to pocket a ball. The wing ball should be "wired" which is why they come up with all the different breaking formats for the pros. Basically with a template you could slow roll...

GENDER IN POOL ... Do Men Play Better Than Women? ... Recent Legal Trial

I believe most "men only" events no longer exist. They are just called open, and by that definition anyone can play, so it's a moot point.

I have no clue nor do I want to. I already overthink everything this game has to offer.

What do you believe are the nicest Smoke Free (Non Smoking / including a strict policy against Electric Cigarettes) Pool halls in America?

I'm not a doctor. If this is a newish phenomenon and you're a bit older you might get checked for blood clots in your lungs. My dad complained for 2 years about even smelling a candle or campfire in a huge campground before it bothered him enough to go to the doctor. By that point it had become...

    Missed This 11 Consecutive Times

This may sound silly, but what about going back only 1/2 a diamond? At least try to figure out where this shot's danger zone is for you. If you can still comfortably hit it at 1/2 diamond, you should be able to confidently shoot it in a match. If it's out of your comfort zone, play a safe or a...

Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

I remember up until the late 90s there was a place in the next county to where I live that sewed sports jerseys, shorts, etc. They went out of business because no one would buy their product because they could order it for less than half price overseas. I think they were there in that location...

🤯 I had to google that... the first link to the poster on amazon was quite a surprise.

Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

You're probably right. I haven't bought a Nike product since I was in Jr. High. I bought them for about 2-3 years but soon found out they were pretty bad shoes. They look neat and have name recognition, but they aren't great shoes. I'm not shitting on them, they have their place but not on my feet.

    1st timer

I got a MidAmerican pro series. It's a capable lathe but I think if I knew more I may have went with the Hightower ones since they have a taper bar option and believe can also do live threading with the right attachments. I had kind of the same thought on shafts, you can buy aftermarket or a...

Awesome! I have a similar plan to convert a 1 piece to learn but I'm too broke after buying the lathe to get materials! 🤣 Following with interest, looking forward to seeing your progress. :)

Possible to extend shaft length from 29 to 30 inches?

I am not a cuemaker. Realistically... no, but it can be done. If you added an extra long ferrule it will change deflection. If you added something at the joint end it will be complicated and possibly introduce a weak spot. If you spice in a piece of wood it can work, but again, complicated...
