    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

For real, try to take 5% off your hardest, then 10%, etc. Try different speeds until it starts looking better. Then at that point fine tune your speed and starting location/spin etc. Speed is super important on where the balls end up.

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

With no other info than this picture, I'd guess you were hitting them too hard, causing the balls to collide and cause weirdness. Just absolutely smashing them will cause odd layouts. You want the balls to accelerate cleanly with as few collisions as possible. Like a smooth acceleration. I could...

What do you think would happen if there were no handicaps, in any leagues or tournaments, and all tournaments were Open to all skill levels?

Yep. One other option, if you are a know FR or "level" you pay different entry fees based on probability of winning. Calcuttas are kind of like this anyway. The stronger player goes for more. Like for example and to make it easy a 300 FR pays $1, a 400 FR should beat a 300 2:1. So a 400 pays...

What do you think would happen if there were no handicaps, in any leagues or tournaments, and all tournaments were Open to all skill levels?

I think it should be a little like weight classes in boxing. A featherweight will most likely get mauled against a heavyweight. In an ideal world you would match up with people in your weight class or those somewhat above or below. In an open event you could fight anyone. But just like pool, in...

CSI banned me from BCA state tournament due to a google review

It's an excuse. If Amazon wanted to continue to pay your friend the extra $400, they could have set up a bonus system even with an hourly wage to encourage better performance. I get paid a set hourly amount, but if our company has a good quarter I get a bonus. It's based on input hours worked in...

    Aiming B.S.

I commend that. I think the issue is, you have the law of diminishing returns. You could write a thousand page treatise on aiming, but in the end, only 20% or so would be functionally usable for the average human being. Your muscle memory, studying how the balls react, and repetition fills in...

    Aiming B.S.

Rote muscle memory. Seriously, you look at the shot and hit it. You already account for spin, speed, throw, deflection, CIT, cloth speed, humidity, ball cleanliness etc. At some point you see the correct shot picture and just do it with variables accounted for. Some aiming systems can help you...

CSI banned me from BCA state tournament due to a google review

I agree, but... All I know is if my water glass sits empty for the entire meal and I see the waiter/waitress playing on their phone and chatting with coworkers, they ain't getting jack from me. I don't ask much. Take my order, bring my food, be at least slightly pleasant, but please refill my...

    Pat Fleming....Ok????

I got a set of those elastic bands around a decade ago when I did physical therapy. They seem silly at first but just for keeping some tension on your body parts when moving them around really does strengthen and smoothly improve range of motion. I actually keep one in my pool bag and will...

Muscle up « and » play pool!

I like to say that tension is the enemy of good pool. You don't want tension in any part of your game. When you're tense and not relaxed, that's when you get jerky and make small errors. I have a lot of stuff messed up and hurting, and one of the most helpful things I found for myself is to...

    Pat Fleming....Ok????

If you like riding bikes, it's not unheard of to drive your bike to a walking/biking trail if there's one somewhat nearby.

    Gluing the seams?

You have to use THIN superglue. The regular stuff won't flow enough. You can buy it online if your local stores don't carry it. Also, not all drywall tape is exactly the same, try to find thinner if possible.

A copy of Winning One Pocket.

I don't know about this book in particular, but Wikipedia is also a great source for books. Some non copyright works you can just read, everything from animal husbandry in the 1500s to pool and billiard books. A lot of times you can borrow/read a copyrighted work with a library card. Kind of...

    Gluing the seams?

Utility knife. Score them and lift, but make absolutely sure they aren't a pinned slate first. I don't think I would recommend using CA on a pinned slate. I've had luck just scraping the glue, it's not very thick. I also think if I set up a pinned slate I would write "pinned slate" do not lift...

Parallel vs BHE vs tuck and roll vs "intuitive" English vs whatever else you use.

Any and all. FHE and BHE have their merits. I can't really say what I use, but I've practiced a lot with both. I just found that if you come down on the ball with the spin in mind you don't have to think about it much, especially once you've practiced it to where you don't have to think about it.

A copy of Winning One Pocket.

Author is dead, it's long out of print. I read it online and figured I'd save the print versions for collectors. Would I like to have a copy? Sure, but I don't see anything in there worth the going price. I mean, it's good info, it would have been especially powerful in the time it was printed...

Shoot them enough and you should just get down on the shot line. I'm not saying you won't ever have to micro adjust but the goal is no adjustments at the table.
