    Good Books to Learn From

I get your point, but in almost every field where you can be a pro athlete, they study sport's psychology, or at the minimum the coaches and trainers do. I don't care anything at all about football but there's a show called something like "Hard Knocks" where they film a team in their preseason...

    Good Books to Learn From

No, but as a cheapskate myself, this is the most valuable pool book I own. It's easily the best bang for your buck. Sometimes copies come up on eBay or the For Sale forum here.

    Eight-pocket Filipino table?

In the 90s they had a Z shape... well, think the tetris piece. It was like you took 2 tables, pushed them side to side so the corner and side pockets lined up. It was pretty neat but back then when pool was 25 cents a game I think it cost $2 or $2.50. We played on it once, it was fun but we were...

Plain model cues,$1000-$1500 retail price, who is best custom cuemaker?

Diveney makes a heck of a nice cue for around that money. He generally has a few on hand, you might have to call him though as they usually aren't on his website.

Aramith Duramith balls getting dirty quicker than others?

It's what players came up with, Aramith wants you to use 10 drops on each ball so they sell more product. That mix works great. Get a spray bottle on amazon (or wherever) and you can shake it then mist the balls. It works really well.

Aramith Duramith balls getting dirty quicker than others?

I got tons of black marks on the balls. I applied mink oil weekly for about 2 months and they no longer leave black marks.

    Tips For This Shot

If you're really close to the rail consider it a jump shot with draw. It's about the only way to get draw when jacked up. It's not an easy shot, you pretty much just have to practice it. Do progressive drills, start out closer to the 1B and move back as you become proficient at the closer ones...

    Cynergy shaft issues

Where do you see the manufacturer's stated tolerance for their shaft? You nor I know if it's within tolerance as it's not stated unless I missed it somewhere. All I'm saying is that 0.09mm is very small indeed. To the point that it's probably well within the acceptable tolerance of CF. No...

    Cynergy shaft issues

I'm not going to make a stand on what AI says as it notoriously just straight lies. I'm curious what the actual tolerances are but I don't see where it's stated on their sites. Cuetech's site says the strands in their CF are 0.007mm. So this has nothing to do with the completed shaft's...

    9 Ball 2 Shot Shootout

The guys around here that insist on 10B generally get beat on 8B or 9B too. They struggle to run 6 balls. I think they've deluded themselves to think bad luck or their opponent's good luck is why they lose. I've seen one of my buddies do a dead easy billiard and the other guy seems wholly...

    How Common Is This?

Yep. It happens. I know what caused my recent one and it sounds really out there. I've been getting allergy shots to try to get rid of or lessen some allergies. I'm right handed and get one in both arms for different things. The two things I'm most allergic to go in my left arm. For two days...

    Cynergy shaft issues

0.09mm. Maybe as small as 0.05mm with the tolerances of his caliper and ability to use it. That's all there is to say. I would be very surprised if ANY CF manufacturer, no matter the cost or brand, holds a tolerance to 0.09mm. The mere thought is absolutely ludicrous. I have no dog in the fight...

    Cynergy shaft issues

I'm not saying your measurement isn't right, but when you're getting down to 90 microns it is in the territory where tool calibration and technique really start to get important. Squeeze a bit tighter or be a bit off perpendicular to the axis and it all throws in error. Good quality calipers are...

    Cynergy shaft issues

.09 difference isn't significant at all. It's the thickness of a hair or less. So each side of the shaft is around 1/2 a human hair less. It's absolutely insane to even think about something like that being a defect or effecting your shot in any way. Pool is 90% mental and this is definitely in...

I don't know anything about the collectability of the cue but I'd guess $250. I may be way off.

    Name These Overlaps

A half ball hit is actually hitting the inside quarter contact point of the CB with the outside quarter contact point on the OB. A full hit is hitting the middle with the middle. I understand fractional hits but I'd rather think in contact points. Either way works but I like the pinpoint.

    Recent Facebook banter regarding fargo

Not disagreeing with your post, but even in handicapped events it's usually the better players/higher rated that win. They can outrun the nuts. To be a high rated player they have figured out how to dig deep when needed. Even when the handicap is fair, the better player usually wins. Champion...
