    Recent Facebook banter regarding fargo

Sometimes I'd rather play a better player even up for money than go into a top heavy handicapped tournament. If tournament entry is $50 you can waste an entire day waiting to play with no chance to win, or just play a cheap set or two and be onto something else with the rest of your day. I'm...

    Rhino full cue test hit

I had one of the USA themed playing cues, along with the break cue, jump cue and extension from the set. The playing cue played good but I also found it butt heavy. I figured, no big deal, I'll just take the weight bolt out or put in a smaller one. There was no weight bolt in it by default. I...

I didn't realize the pic was clickable. I read the comments 3 times over wondering WTF was going on. :ROFLMAO: I need to use the sleep. ;)

Keith McCready vs Ismael Paez 1991 US Open 9-Ball Championship

Yeah, they played bad but there was some good shooting at times. I literally was laughing with the racking situation, funny stuff!

    Billiard Industry needs

I agree. It's also simple economics. You can either source good wood, go through all the aging and drying process and still end up throwing away 20-40% of your dowels that don't meet your standards, or you can get a CF tube that is almost always perfect. No need for aging/drying or having a...

1990 US Open Sigel & Varner - 5 Inch Pockets

I agree but I just love watching Keith play. When he's in a gear it's a joy to watch. He's a legit comedian at times too. Tournament style pool was still somewhat in it's infancy. Slow cloth, little tech, no commonly and readily available instruction like today. It was the wild west. They were...

Keith McCready vs Ismael Paez 1991 US Open 9-Ball Championship

Awesome match! Buddy and Kim were having a blast. Buddy's laugh is infectious! Good shooting, and lots of banter and funny antics at the table too.

Things to consider for those forum members buying their first pool cue

CF is pretty divisive. It's not needed and there is a beauty to wood. But in all honesty if someone I knew was "getting serious" about pool and wanted to improve, wanting their first cue I would suggest CF to them. They are mostly LD, slick, don't get dings like wood etc. This isn't to say wood...

Dumb old man question of the day

Olhausen are lively but you can't hit them very hard. They seem to bottom out easier than some tables. I do like the Accu-Fast cushions though, they are accurate and you don't need to piss pound them. This can be weird if you're used to using speed to shorten banks and such, you can still do the...

    SVB-Fedor.... Texas Open

The 2 goes on either wing or at the back of the rack. I think it's supposed to be random or at least different each time.

    SVB-Fedor.... Texas Open

I do in practice but I can't get my buddies talked into it. No events/leagues around here do 9 on the spot. I just have fun messing around with breaks, plus I figured I might get a little edge if I can talk someone into the "spot" of 9 on the spot. :)

Things to consider for those forum members buying their first pool cue

I was used to my McDermott. This is how I felt after picking up a Diveney at his shop. It's like the cue disappeared in my hands. It felt alive. Balance is huge, and a lot of times production cues have a weight bolt in the back, yes you can change the weight but the balance never changes much.

    SVB-Fedor.... Texas Open

I'm an alright player, not a world beater by any means. With the 2 racked in the back I can consistently make a wing, get the 1B in the side most of the time and have a decent shot at the 2. Our town leagues and some of the tournaments around did and still do specify 2 in the back. Once you know...

    Dress code in tournaments

This is definitely a good argument. I don't have a horse in the race either way. But look at professional corn hole, their dress code is odd. They get sponsors. People watch it and especially buy up boards, bags, etc. This sure doesn't look fancy. Some jerseys, hoodies, shorts, hats, etc. There...

SVB shouldn’t be allowed to turn hearing aids off?

I honestly tried to stop coming up with excuses. If someone asks me why I missed or says something like I threw the ball I just say "I addressed that shot incorrectly." 9 times out of 10 it's true. Now if I want to have a little fun with someone, I'll say it was the humidity. Sometimes you can...

SVB shouldn’t be allowed to turn hearing aids off?

Lol brother it's just the opposite. ADD is an absolute nightmare for maintaining focus and playing pool. 😱 See something out of the corner of your eye? Hear something? The air has a bit too much movement to it? Oh look, a squirrel! Yeah... sometimes I think I'd play better with a lobotomy. I...
