    Nick Varner's Cue Collection

Nick and his partner beat me and Tod in the ICCS tournament on Thursday night. We got one shot, I blew it, and they ran the table and then racked and ran the second set. It was an honor getting my ass kicked by him!

Aramith Premier Balls - Fake or Just Not Balanced Very Well?

Yes, and no... When your holding one it's pretty clear it's a polyresin ball and not pure phenolic. Plus after a few months of modest play they will be dull and surfaced scratched all to hell. No amount of polishing will return the out of the box luster.

Aramith Premier Balls - Fake or Just Not Balanced Very Well?

Golden rule of used pool balls buying: "What's in the box, is not what came in the box" Most people get a new set of balls when they don't like there old ones. New set goes on the table old ones go in the box. Someone buys the box with the oldest at a garage or estate sale and thinks there...

    Help Identify This Cue!

My cue does not have a bumper and from the photos of Nineballs neither did his but he would need to independently confirm that. The ferrule on my shaft is ivory here is a photo of it.

    Help Identify This Cue!

You realize we're talking about some of the very first cues he made before he fully fleshed out what we know as his style. You can't compare this to anything made after 78/79. How many RB cues from 74-77 have you owned or handled. And I get pretty sick of people throwing out the emotionaly...

    I have it, Do you?

Over 300 cues right now, the majority are 70's to 90's American made production cues. 120 sets of phenolic balls mostly Aramith. A small bucket of scuffers, picks, and random pool tools that came in the cases with all those cues. I love every single piece...

    Help Identify This Cue!

If Nineball still has his cue I would definitely be trying to buy it right now! But is sounds like he sold it. Richard did tell the original owner he made it but when I got it in hand there were so many factors that just did not read RB cue. Clearly I was wrong and glad I was.

The design of his and the design of mine are pretty much identical except for the woods used on the forearm and the butt sleeve inlays. The two cues are almost exact opposites of each other.
