Outstanding suggestions! I had not looked at either of those makers and quick google image searches showed cues for both that had similar traits.

This effect is being driven by herd pricing behavior on eBay and not actual sales or sales data. There are always one-off and low-production cues made by the mass makers that command higher prices but a lot of what you're seeing now is just pure dumbass speculation coupled with idiotic...
