Take all of the weight out of your break cue

To my 'feel' the balance is not affected to a point I notice, but I do feel more speed with less effort. As I mentioned, I think having it heavier, and stepping down to lighter, has meant that my tip accuracy on the CB is good enough to utilize this extra speed. Really interested to play with it...

    Universal Cues - Aloysius Yapp

Their break cue is great. Love the minimal branding and simple but effective grip. Jump cue also. Not keen on the gold or blue. But the black one is real nice. They are a Taiwanese company I think. Lots of players here are using them.

Helium injection? Hacksaw? Let's be creative 😂

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

Agree I have a feeling this was the stock weight of my cue. I generally aim to break below maximum to preserve control. Probably around similar speeds listed here. I think 16/17mph was a sweet spot when I was putting work into this a while ago. I'll go back and check the data I collected then...

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

That's like the guys 'Featherweight' Jacoby. Guess you tried it, liked it, and that's good enough :)

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

I actually didn't weigh mine after removing, will do later. My friend has a Jacoby "Featherweight" this is around 14oz I believe. Worked well for MR 9ball when I tried it. Didn't try any other game with it. Joking about this cue being a matchstick is what made him take the weight out of mine...

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

I was using it at its stock weight. Now using it, at it's minimal weight. Will continue to see how it goes. But you're right, trial and error. See what works for you. As an idea, I do think using a heavier cue and developing the stroke/precision that you want could have some "weight to it" ;)...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

"I'm not getting sucked into this dead weight, but I hope in the future there are more opportunities for all people to play the game we enjoy"

Why are there so few black pro players..?

No, sounds ridiculous. You'll be one of the people who argue "WoMeN sEe CoLoUrS bEtTeR bUt MeN aRe BeTteR aT aImInG" I'm not getting sucked into this dead weight, but I hope in the future there are more opportunities for all people to play the game we enjoy.

Take all of the weight out of your break cue

I didn't like it (or the thought of it) light either. After a year or so hitting with my PBkai/Ignite shaft, and regularly telling people who suggested to remove it that "I don't mess with cues, I work on my action" It wasn't that I hit them poorly. WPA/MR 9ball, 8ball, 10ball. All solid. I am...

Do it now. Not sure why it's in there to begin with.

Why are there so few black pro players..?

I mean, the title of the thread is inherently affected by the concept of race.

Why are there so few black pro players..?

I think he is just animated and obviously passionate about this topic, and the thread has become a bit of a dumpster fire that is too hot to handle. I appreciate his efforts to explain his thoughts/rationale. I mean, in between the word salad, I agree with the general sentiment. But he did...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

I was talking about/to Garczar. I think he knows that our thoughts often clash, but sometimes he carries himself in a particularly abhorrent way. The comment he made was one of those. Just made me feel gross reading it. Agree with you. I am always open to listening to, and understanding...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

Sometimes you provide constructive and knowledgeable content, and even when you're ripping into people there's an air of humor that I enjoy reading. This is not one of those times... This level of ignorance is quite honestly gross.

    KO brothers tip review.

I'm good. Have no problem doing what I need with the cueball. Imparting momentum involves connecting with the object, regardless of length, simply connecting can be considered following through - "Insert Newtonian quote here"

    KO brothers tip review.

How would it move at all... even touching it is imparting a follow through. Regardless of length.

    KO brothers tip review.

There is always to some extent a follow through... however minuscule... this is how momentum is transferred from one object to another. I'm no Physics teacher, but pretty sure that's how it works.

Yes, momentum through the ball. ...but now I feel bad for contributing for the annual thread hijacking babble about the same topic. Thought this was a tip review thread lol

Yapp winning, with a foul! Just like Maradona making a goal with his hands :D

I'd impose a time limit like they do in cricket. 15 seconds to challenge a call and use the DRS. Otherwise sit down and shut up. They get a set amount of referrals, if the challenge is inconclusive, they lose the referral. If the challenge is upheld, they maintain the ability to refer. Works...
