A TD here (not CA anymore) told me that the turnout suffers if they report to FR because a lot of players like to fly under the radar. He also said he's sick of it and will be reporting everything from now on.

    Fargo Rating

No. A Player that I played a few years ago was a 640ish player and then he had a fall off a ladder and injured himself pretty severely and had to take time off. He came back and within a pretty short amount of time was under 600.

HILLBILLY CHARLIE BRYANT.........ANYONE HAVE ANY CURRENT NEWS ON HIM

He was on the chat for the Crockett saying that he’s going to start coaching/lessons again soon. Going through some personal stuff recently. I believe it was during the SVB/Styer match while Margaret was in the booth.

    Cues In Hot Cars

I had my cue in the car one time. McDermott plain Jane. It didn’t warp but the stain liquified and ran down and ruined the wrap. Temp was 106. I stopped off at a girl’s house on the way home from the pool room and stayed a little longer than expected. I traded it in on my Schon at...

    Tuck and Roll

There is something to this. One time I tried to emulate Bustamante by placing my cue tip on the table and envisioning how I wanted to hit the shit and just letting it fly. I was very surprised at how well I pocketed balls and got shape. Something about just letting instinct take over can be...

Understanding The Improvement Process in Pool, Life, or Anything!

This is so true! Also, when you only study the successes you get a lot of bias. Winners in sports always say the same things: "I work really hard" or "Mindset is key" etc... Lots of similar things for successful projects. When I was a ski racer I was talking with Scott Henderson (Canadian...

    8 ball handicaps

I saw Melvin Sharpe in Denver one time at a league tournament (like BCA regional, but before BCA) give all comers the following spot: Rack 9-ball rack with 8b in middle. Melvin’s break. Melvin is solids and has to make his balls in rotation Melvin has to bank every ball Sucker is stripes and...

I agree. That was number one. Second for me would be Cory in the long match against Shane which is on YouTube without commentary.

    Bar table specialists

Wasn’t there a story about him playing Efren some 3C in Olathe and he held his own pretty good to the point where Efren gave him a pretty big compliment. When I have a chance I’ll see if I can find it.

And don't leave yourself for a side shot position near the end of a rack! :) I heard that observation from you on a stream and stopped doing that unless I absolutely have to and then I MAKE SURE to get the correct angle. Once you said that I realized how many times it felt like I was running...

    Bar table specialists

Matlock really was king of the bar box with an oversized cue ball. The aim point was different. The English reacted differently. The 90 degree rule for predicting CB path after contact wasn’t 90 degrees. It was a big shift for him to go to the big tables. But when he did it still took a...

    Bar table specialists

I also want to add, for most players hearing someone say they are a bar table specialist is like money in the bank. I prefer the bar tables. That’s where the action is where I’ve lived and I enjoy the small track. But like a lot of people I took a good big table game and adapted it to the...

    Bar table specialists

I don't think nearly as many as in the past. There are lots of great bar table players that never play on big tables because so many tournaments are on bar tables and so many areas have almost exclusively bar tables. In the old days, with big cue balls, heavy cue balls and huge pockets that...

Do you watch a lot of pool videos?

On YouTube the right and left arrow keys jump forward and back 5 seconds. The 'J' and 'L' keys jump forward and backward 10 seconds. I watch matches with my fingers on those keys and just jump ahead to the shot unless there is an interesting situation and the commentary is good. If the...

I read that SVB collapsed, so I came here to find out what happened.

I think the players are getting paid…not so sure about the stakehorses.
