Pool jersey's, love 'em or hate 'em..??

Yeah, it's one of those things that I like for the pros. If you're a sponsored full time player you need something to show off all the sponsor logos and I think the pool jersey is a good approach. Many could be a little....quieter...style wise. But it's a better look than the whole suit vest...

    History behind your Avatar

Mine is my King case and my old playing cue that I no longer have but used for years, a fancier version of similar Runde I custom ordered and do still have. Should update it one of these days with a cue I still own but just haven't gotten around to it.

    Awesome Whitten 6x12

That is a sweet collectors case! I clicked because I thought surely 6x12 must be some weird typo...nope. I really dig the color coordinated tubes inside too....that is smart for a case like this

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I have a BK a rush and I really like it, it feels great as a break cue, but I don’t think it breaks noticeably better than my wood shaft OB Break cue. A hard tip and a stiff shaft are really all one needs. Still don’t regret getting the BK Rush, it does the job wonderfully, but it’s certainly...

Hitting cut shots with draw - why do I keep missing?

Are you consistently missing it thick or thin? Or is it mixed?

Tomorrow: 20 years as an AZB poster: our beloved JAM; Celebrate-Congratulate-Appreciate this dear lady here.

Congrats @JAM ! 20 years is an impressive tenure!! I too had to check, coming up on 16 years in January for me. Hard to believe....you'd think I'd be a better pool player by now, haha

    Carmeli Silver Diamond by Viking

I believe it uses a 3/8x10 modified pin and otherwise I assume it's pretty similar to standard Viking construction, but not sure, maybe there is more to it. I will say, some of the best looking designs Viking has ever put out, they're great looking classic cues. I need to swing by Viking...

    Segan Cues - Joint/Thread size?

Having been to the Schon shop a few times and talked to people...they don't really have departments...when I was there it was like 3-4 guys making cues. It is not a big operation at all. So I wouldn't put much stock into whatever the reply was labelled as. Also not surprised they have no...

    My Southwest is here......finally.

Very nice!! Love the cue and the case. Congrats on a beautiful setup! I've been on the list for about 10 years now. I did get a Satin last year though so that was nice, at least I now know what a South West plays like and I quite like it. Keep it in my King case as well. Will you be...

The Zone -- Are We There Yet?

I don't know the answer. But there are times when I'm playing at my best and I'll run some balls and when I get done and I sit back down someone will come up and start talking to me about this shot or that shot that I just made and in a lot of cases I can't remember them. I'll remember the...

Takin' One of the Girls Out for a Spin

Do you have any trouble switching between them? I wish I had a table at home so I could play more often with the couple cues I keep tucked away that aren’t my daily player.

Which Variable Is the Cause of Most Missed Shots

Yeah, for me it is definitely a breakdown in stroke mechanics. I’m amazed at how well I can execute a shot when I stay down, follow through, etc., etc. but in the heat of the moment I can tend to lose focus on the mechanics and execution. And that’s when things go awry for me. I do have...

    New Andy Gilbert

I've only had a jump/break from him but even that had just perfect fit and finish. If he puts out that quality of a product for a $500ish jump/break cue....I have no doubt his playing cues are really nice. He's on the short list of cue makers I always consider when looking at cues

    Politics in a billiards forum?

Agree with most everyone else. Don’t want to see it here or in other pool related areas, but have no problem with it being discussed in the NPR area. I don’t go there for that reason but glad there is a place for those discussions to happen for the people that want them. I belong to numerous...

    Burnishing tip

I have and love one of these little guys. Not even sure when or where I got it but it’s great. Very small, easy to control and get it just on the tip and you can easily modulate pressure so it gets well burnished but won’t twist your tip off. Surprisingly useful little strip of leather...

    When you're not feeling it

Yep, exactly! And I find trying to play my A game when I don't have it can just lead to further frustration. Leaning into the B game and trying to make that work has been a better approach for me not only in overall results but also in providing a better chance for me to find that A level game...

    When you're not feeling it

I know that feeling well! When I run into that I try to do two things. First, focus on the fundamentals...pre shot routine, smooth stroke, stay down on the shot, etc. And second, I accept that I'm not playing my best in this moment and I adjust my approach. I try to simplify my game, try to...

What case makers make cases with soft dividers and not plastic tubes?

Al King makes beautiful custom leather cases that use interiors from JB. I’ve had lots of cases over the years, Justis, Whitten, Murnak…JB interiors are, IMO, the absolute best protection for your cues. I really haven’t found anything else that compares. Regardless of how you may feel about...
