    50th Birthday Presents to Myself

That is super cool, very nice setup!! I got my King case for my 40th birthday and I love it, he does such good work. And that Tasc conversion jump cue is awesome! I've never seen a Tasc jump cue and would never have thought to even ask for such a thing but that is really neat that they made...

Hitting better with a hard tip?

I've been having a similar experience recently, though compounded by it not just being a tip difference but also carbon vs traditional wood shaft. I think I had a medium tip early on when picking pool back up 15-ish years ago. Maybe a few other mediums here and there but lately it's been all...

    Predator Revo Shaft Weight

I have 12.4 and 11.8 shafts for my cue and I agree that the 11.8 also feels to have a stiffer hit to me. Maybe it’s just the taper on those or something. I read in another thread that these shafts have something metal in them around the 1/3 length point ish….confirmed with a magnet from my...

White marks on carbon fiber shaft - How to remove?

Interesting. Does look like what I was expecting....does kinda look like impact mark or abrasion of some sort. If none of the stuff you tried worked it does make me think it must be a bit o factual "damage" to the shaft. Not that it makes the shaft unusable at all, but not sure it's going to...

White marks on carbon fiber shaft - How to remove?

Never seen that and also would be surprised if it came from just moving the cue ball around. Possible the previous owner was a hand chalk user and it's from that? I would think that would clean off easy enough but who knows. Pics would help. I have multiple Revo shafts across my player...

    Cutting Semantics

Where are you located? I think like you, an over cut is too thin. You're cutting the ball and you cut it too much (over cut) and therefor hit it too thin. Undercut would be catching it thicker than intended. I can only vaguely follow the logic on the other interpretation. Maybe it's...

SVB withdraws from future WPA events

Nice! Hopefully others will follow. Glad to see SVB stand up and take the lead

    Learning

The lessons definitely helped at the time! It's been over 10 years since I had my lesson with Scott and even longer with Jerry. Unfortunately life got in the way at times and I had a gap where I didn't play at all for a while...so my game is in the rebuild stage right now. But, thanks to...

    Learning

Scott was great, I did his SPF course in a small group setting and it was really good. I should dig up the papers I took away from that lesson and revisit it all sometime soon. Very insightful. I've only taken two lessons but I've been lucky that one was with Scott Lee and the other was...

1 week until SVB vs Fedor Gorst Race to 120 August 15 to 17th

I'm going to be out of town visiting family so I won't be purchasing. If I was around it would be a maybe for me. Not a huge fan of a race this long but am curious how they'll match up and I do think the length of the race may give SVB an edge. Like and really enjoy watching both of them...

Cue shaft: Best Bang for the Buck?

Definitely Rhino carbon I'd think. Good deal. Or, if you want wood, maybe a used Schon shaft from someone who's changed over to playing carbon...I would imagine there are some out there to be had for a decent price.

Cue butt diameter older cues vs. new

I agree it's surprising that it's not a more commonly stated measurement. Seems like tip diameter, joint diameter, and butt diameter are all important measurements on a cue but often you'll only see the tip diameter mentioned.

    3 Seconds cue case

I agree that the 3x6 isn't my favorite layout. I usually stick with the 2x5/3x4 ones as I like having the two large butts (player and breaker) on the outsides as I do think they get a little more room. Then the middle slot actually works great for an AirRush butt since those are much thinner...

    3 Seconds cue case

Yeah, I've been using cases with JB interiors for 10 years or more now and have never seen any problems on any of my cues.

    3 Seconds cue case

I’ll add that there are a couple guys in my league who use them and they really like them too. Also the top closure system and the magnetic clasp they use is really cool! I love the way the top opens and folds closed. If I could combine some features from 3 Seconds and some from a JB I would.

    3 Seconds cue case

I have one. They are well built but there are things I don’t like about it too. There isn’t much padding so the cues move around and knock about a bit inside. It’s not terrible and I have no doubt it’s safe enough, but when you’re used to JB interiors were nothings moves it just feels...

Thanks for the kind words! I’m very happy with it all, feeling very content these days. At least when it comes to pool equipment, haha
