    Headphones at hard times sac

I've played in some small local tournaments where players have worn them. Never been an issue for me, does seem a little disrespectful but I also get that a lot of players prefer listening to their own stuff...which I get because music on in the room definitely effects my overall mood and...

    Gloves

Some really good points. I play 2x a week usually, maybe 3x some weeks. So I’ll get more lifespan than someone who plays daily for sure. I also care for my glove, try to let it air out briefly while packing up my case at the end before putting it away. Wash it regularly, and learned that sizing...

    Gloves

3 Seconds is good quality but I don’t love the full 5 finger design, you definitely notice it more than the 3 finger style. I like Predator these days but have also like a Kamui I had in the past. Gloves last a good while for me, year or so is pretty typical. Toss the, in the washing machine...

    Predator 8point sneaky pete/w revo 12.4

Nice looking cue, I like those "sneakies" they do, nice sharp points on them like on my K Series Classic. To me this is where Predator shines, good classic looking cues at really decent prices. With a Revo you have a thoroughly modern cue that still nods to classic designs but has a super...

Measle ball should not be used during matches

As a player I couldn't care less either way. I find no advantage in having the measle ball but have no problem with them either. I do like them as a spectator though and enjoy being able to see more about what the player is doing and how they hit the shot in the moment. I've always thought...

Value of New Predator Scorpion LE cues

I like Predator overall and currently play with a full Predator setup but these are both ugly and ridiculously priced. I’d be fine paying $2-2.5k for another one of their collaboration runs with Jacoby, those are nice cues. When I saw the teaser they were releasing something that’s what I...

    Agate vs Rock

Weird, I have never in my life heard the cue ball referred to as "agate" until this post.

Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

I think some builders would probably be cool with that and others maybe not so much. Shafts can run anywhere from $150-300+ depending on the builder I think. I would always get at least 1 of the builders wood shafts to have for the cue myself, would never completely skip out on them if...

    Meucci Wrap Question

Looks to me like an all black linen wrap under a finish on an old cue where the finish has shrunk, the wood possibly swelled or shrunk over the years to make the transition from wrap to wood much more noticeable and present then it would have been originally. Looks like the finish may have...

    Carbon Shaft comments, please

Seems like everything I’ve heard about Rhino has been positive, they seem to offer a lot of value for the money. Predator probably puts more into R&D, seems like most say it’s a bit lower deflection which makes sense too. There is also after sales support. Not sure about Rhino, maybe they’re...

    Predators new closed finger gloves…

Closed thumb is an intriguing option. I like open fingers most of the time, makes it easier to pick up the balls from the pockets, but somtimes with some bridges I end of off the glove material. I wish they'd offer cuffless versions. I don't like the extended cuff with the velcro, just no...

    Is this Normal? (Mezz Ignite)

Any shaft that doesn't have a straight conical taper will have a gap like that, just the nature of a pro taper. If the gap changes a lot when rolled, that's a taper roll.

Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

With the right lady and right Casio you might be....there is a whole world of Casio G-Shock collectors out there, they're pretty popular these days...

Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

I do agree and don’t really go back and forth at all, this last week being an exception as I was giving the South West a little more of a test run. Was considering selling it since I’m playing the Predator. Turns out I like it too much so going to try holding onto it

Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

You make a valid point...especially since I'm currently wearing a Sub Date :) It'll be interesting to see how it shakes out. I think the competitive aspect helps make the cue things a little different....nobody is using a mechanical watch to time races for example...no matter how many Rolex...

Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

I don't think it's carbon shafts necessarily but they're helping move the process along for sure. The first step was LD shafts. Before that everything was basic maple and ferrule material, taper, wood selection, etc. all factored in greatly to playability. Then LD came along with mass...

    Break Speed App Issue

I started looking at mine as I was reading this thread and I couldn't figure it out either. That slider is not intuitive at all, haha. But glad to get a reminder of how it works, thanks @dquarasr! I do like the app, don't use it often but recently was comparing my BK Rush to my older OB break...

    APA 9ball WTF

Weird, never occurred to me but I get it. Makes me very happy I play league on non-coin-opp tables. I hate coin opp tables and hate carrying change, haha

    New predator special edition 20

Nice! I keep hoping Predator will do another run with Jacoby built cues. I missed out on the Valour series but there were some nice ones in that run.
