    Golden Fleece rumor

Crazy that they have more demand for the BB to me. I get playing on the BB because that’s what you have access too but when faced with the choice I would never choose BB over a big table. Being in the Midwest it’s mostly BBs around here but thankfully we have one place here with 8 9’...

Anyone still use a SS joint?

I should add my preference for a more forward balance is a big part of the reason I've gravitated towards SS joints as well. I also like the look of a classic 4point cue with a wrap and SS joint. But, I will say, I took my South West Satin out for a spin the other day and oh boy.....there is...

Anyone still use a SS joint?

I've always liked SS joints. Of my current 3 playing cues 2 are SS joints, my 2015 Runde custom and a Predator K-Series Classic 1

Rules for gorst SVB race to 120

Yeah, I don't mind a single long set....but not this long. Race to 25 seems more than sufficient for a "long" set for me, maybe 50 for a really long one. I do like the tennis style setup though. Best of 5 sets, race to 10 would be great.

Best CF Shaft for the MSRP?

I play with Revo these days but if I was looking for a best bang for the buck option I'd look at the Rhino shafts. Feedback has seemed very positive on those and their price is just really really good

Fedor and his Extension on his cue

I don’t think that is true at all. Unscrewing a jump/break handle to get it to jump size, or just shortening one of the long three piece jump cues to it’s shorter length, while it’s your turn at the table is not at all the same as unscrewing your cue by removing the shaft like you’re going to...

    Simple aiming system

I avoid most aiming system threads after reading through a good few years ago and none of them making any sense to me or seeming to be based on actual facts/physics/geometry. The only two that do are the basic ghost ball visualization or the contact point/parallel line aiming method (which...

    Shorter break cue

I've never fully understood the logic for it, but Mezz has their Power Break II which is 4" shorter than normal https://mezzusa.com/products/power-break-ii-cue-blue

Fedor Gorst and the Viking Sponsorship

I mean, I guess on some level yes. But also the interchangeable insert design is probably more expensive to produce and they seem to have a fairly techy approach to their shaft material. Along with that is their size options, they offer 5 diameters compared to the more common 3 or so. While...

Fedor Gorst and the Viking Sponsorship

Agreed 100%. Mezz and Schon are great examples of clean and classy production cue design. Viking can and should keep a few of their more out there designs...it is Viking and they've always been like that a little. But they could be so much more popular I think with a nice range of classic...

Fedor Gorst and the Viking Sponsorship

I agree with a lot of that. I'm fine with the Whyte pricing, they're making a premium product and pricing it as such. It is what it is. My first cue was a Viking so I've always had a soft spot for them but as someone else said...god they make a lot of ugly cues. Like a lot. Gorst picked...

    Simple aiming system

This is precisely what I think happens with these "systems" that don't actually make sense based on the actual physics/geometry of what's going on here. It works for some people because their mind is unconsciously making adjustments to just make the ball through experience/practice with real...

    Simple aiming system

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but this doesn't seem to work to me. Here is a diagram of a 1 ball to cut into the corner pocket, a ghost ball showing where the cue needs to contact it to make it. And then the cue where it's at with a line to the pocket. The point where that line intersects the...

Break (movie) - how is it?

Just saw Fedor post about this movie on his IG and didn't realize it was out now. Anybody seen it? How is it? Trying to decide if I want to rent it or buy it. I'm not a particularly tough person to please when it comes to pool movies, I quite enjoy Poolhall Junkies for example and own it on...

Fedor and his Extension on his cue

I actually tried this approach a little at league last night…didn’t hate it. Love the extension and added weight for some long shots or if I needed a big draw stroke but prefer without for softer touchier shots. Had cargo shorts on which helped since I had an easy place to put the 3” extension...

    Taom Chalk WPC Championships

Interesting. I've been using the blue Taom Pyro for over a year now and I feel like my incidence of miscues has dropped. Had just been using the house supplied Masters before that but have previously used things like Blue Diamond or Magic Chalk as well. Perhaps though, it's because along...

    Anyone ever get the YIPS?

This is actually more like what I experience I guess. It's not a complete failure to be able to do something with regards to the physical stroke, which I think is probably more accurately the yips. But some days I just can't seem to see the cut angles right, even really simple ones. What do...
