    Is this legal

No, can't mark the rail like that. Foul. https://www.billiards.com/blogs/articles/official-bca-general-rules-of-pocket-billiards#:~:text=ILLEGAL%20MARKING.,shot%2C%20no%20penalty%20is%20imposed.

Why do players seem to want the same cue, tip, and specs that their favorite player uses?

Yeah, I don't think most posts asking about specific details of a players cue are doing so because they want to recreate an exact setup. I'm curious what pro players use, I knew Filler liked a really light cue for example and that 16oz number seems familiar though I couldn't have come up with...

Why do players seem to want the same cue, tip, and specs that their favorite player uses?

I've never met such a player really. Sure, some people might take a bit of influence here or there and maybe some people, especially newer players who have yet to develop and figure out their own preferences with regards to cues, go further and really do align their cue specs to a favorite...

    Chalk on The Rail

Couple years back a friend and league teammate gave me a piece of Taom. That got me to spend the next few weeks working on ingraining carrying my own chalk to and from (that was the hard one) the table. It definitely took a bit to get into the habit but I’m glad I did it. I too am a chalk...

Dark theme links cannot be seen

Yeah, Shades of Grey is what I'm using and it's a good dark theme view IMO

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

I think custom cues will survive okay but they'll probably start coming with carbon shafts in most cases. Many people still want something unique that can't just be purchased off the shelf by the thousands. And I think we're starting to see the emergence of a modern custom market. I've...

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

Huh. Took the wood shafts out for a spin today, good old standard full deflection for the playing cue. I watched this video thinking, boy that doesn’t make any sense, that’s equivalent to using a pivot point at the very butt end of the cue…makes no sense, he must be doing a lot experiential...

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

Carbon shafts are also still fairly new and can vary greatly in their feel. Go try a Revo and a Jacoby Black V4 side by side, massive massive difference in feel. They do perform fairly similarly but feel drastically different. The Revo is stiff and feels and sounds like it. The Black V4...

    Mcdermott cues "feeling heavy"

Measure the balance point from both and see how they compare. My guess is the Predator is more forward balanced, which is my preference. Measuring from the end of the butt cap I like a balance around 19-19.5". Anything below 18" is an absolute no go for me.

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

Agree with this. Best feeling cue I've ever played with is probably my South West Satin. The feel and feedback from that cue is amazing, I now "get" the South West thing and why they are so popular. But I also have been playing with carbon shafts lately and they do just make the game...

    Traditional wood shafts making comeback?

I have not seen any move back towards wood around me. Wood is still in use by mostly casual players and a few serious players here and there but that number seems to be dropping. Most players I see who are intermediate or above are playing carbon these days. Small local tournament last...

    Repetitive Stress Injury from Pool?

I got tennis elbow years ago from actually playing tennis. It was pretty bad and took forever to really get better. Golf would aggravate it some as well as some things in the gym. But it had been mostly gone for years until this last year or so when it started flaring up again. Pool would...

Looks like you are getting your pool movie....

Can't wait to watch it! Pool could use a new movie and I'll watch pretty much anything with Jenna Ortega in it. I'm seeing more and more young people getting into the game and this type of thing can only help. I rarely go to a movie in a theater, probably less than 1 time per year since I...

New 'dope' for Predator junkies...... the 'Centro'

Interesting release. Not the shaft so much as the decision by Predator to release a wood exterior shaft at a price point almost the same as Revo. Carbon has become so ubiquitous at this point I feel like more people want the carbon look than the wood look. This shaft would have made more...

    DigiBall Passaround Reviews

I agree that using this in a tournament format with it displayed on screen would be really cool, I would LOVE to be able to watch a pro tournament and see exactly how the player is hitting the shot. Even just setting up an exhibition match to showcase this with some good and knowledgeable...

Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

I wonder about JB Cases since those all come from China. What's going to happen to the price and availability of both his cases and the interiors. Having had a lot of nice cases over the years I'll pretty much only use something with a JB interior at this point, like my wonderful leather case...
