TheSneak, is Will Stem, an APA player from Maryland. I think it's quite an accomplishment for anyone to be able to qualify to go to any National Tournament. I would congratulate anyone else who makes it.

In our league, teams are given an extra 3 bonus points per week if score sheets are completed neatly, pay on time, etc... I've had disappointments with the APA before, but they were, for the most part, logical...this one is not.

You got it Creedo! This is the case here. Therefore, one needs to investigate further to find another solution to select a winner. Compare win/loss records, total points scored, etc., between the 3 teams to make it fair. The APA might go for this...they'd get to collect more money.:eek:

Not quite. TeamA lost to Team B 2x. TeamA beat Team C 1x. TeamB and TeamC tied all the way around. Does this make TeamA better than TeamB?

I've been in tie-breakers plenty of times, and I wasn't upset then as long as it was explained to me how the winner was chosen. This instance upsets me because 2 different processes are being used. I would really like to know if any other sport uses APA's "Break the tie by matching the teams...

I don't/can't play tennis, so I didn't know that. But isn't APA 9ball the same way (per my reply above). Yeah, I agree with you with the tourney format 100%. I've had the benefit of winning/losing this way before.

My team is doing just that, "just win". We do that, and then we're rewarded by losing out to a team that lost the most...where's the satisfaction in that? Yeah, I knew beforehand that I'm pursuing a futile attempt to get a rule changed...but if I at least give it a try, something might come...

This is what they should be doing. For a 2-way tie, they do this... Per the manual, "If two teams are tied - Break the tie by letting their records against each other during regular session play decide the issue." Why can't they do it for all 2,3,4, etc ties? Isn't this how APA 9-Ball is...
