Waxing the cue ball? WTF is Kaci talking about now?

Back in 2010 at the World Team Championships we played on SAM tables with milliken cloth (if I'm not mistaken about the cloth), these tables were so slick and fast that it was so hard to control the CB, it was ridiculous. Pro snooker and Carom tables have heates under the slate to dry humidity...

Do you think Pool is Fun?

It is fun if it's not fun and it's not your job. then quit. It's frustrating when we miss and lose and when thing are not going our way, but if it was easy, it would be getting boring really fast. The challenge is part of the fun. Practice can be boring and not fun but it is a mean to an end...

Why do people suck so bad at taking pictures of pool cues?

it's not easy to get good cue photos. It's a skinny object that leaves most of the frame empty and it'll look small and can't see the details. so the best way is to photograph parts of the cue. You need good lighting. bright light is not enough, you need soft light to reduce reflection. You do...

Mezz cues commonly used by pros

Not always and definitely not all. A lot of the European players that are sponsored by Mezz and some that don’t are playing with this model: https://mezzusa.com/collections/ace-218-series/products/ace-2181-billiard-cue But it doesn’t really matter, I’m sure that all models in a series plays...

I'm for the shot clock but 30 sec is too short. Have to give enough time to be able to grab a jump cue or extension without running around the arena. 40sec - 45sec should just right.

I agree I think that the shot clock brings the best out of them. At this level, the first option that comes to mind by intuition is usually the right one.

One Heyball event in China will pay more than a successful year of grinding small events all over the USA.

We don’t know if it’s by choice or by restriction. I’m sure that he could travel to China for instance. People have a life and family and a job and sometimes they can’t just leave it all and start touring. My guess is that he is picking his events that are more convenient for him.

Does he even want to? up untill around 20 years ago, traveling to play in the USA was every player's dream, that's were all the big money was and the best players in tournaments and side action. Today, you get a stronger arena in Asia, they don't need to travel to the USA. what are they gonna do...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

I have wooden shafts that are dead straight after 20 years and some that warped, same goes to cue butts. Point is, wood moves and changes and there is no debate that CF is more durable and more consistent. You’ll have to bang a CF shaft really hard on something very sharp to ding it. CF shafts...

List of pro players who stick to wood as their playing shaft

Cue makers will stop offering wooden shafts if customers won’t want them. CF shafts cost more but will last more so in the long run, they are cheaper. If you get a cue to play with, you should want a low deflection shaft. So basically standard wooden shafts will only be a collector thing which...
