How do you guys/gals rack in 9 ball?

There are only two legal ways to Rack 9 ball, the one on the spot or the nine in the spot, which is a new thing. As far as what rack to use, whatever one is available in the pool hall at the time. For most people the preference would be a template rack to make sure that everything is tight.

Match probability calculator, given Fargo ratings

The Ghost definition is how you play against it, not it's skill level. The skill level is that it never misses or makes an error. The player is the one that gets the handicap of first break and ball in hand, or no ball in hand in the advanced version. The Ghost, as an imaginary player...

My first DCC trip this year

I do have one. This place is amazing also, went there a few times new year week https://maps.app.goo.gl/7YSDAW86chRQ1SPHA?g_st=ac

Turning wrist inwards during stroke. Need advice.

I do that at times when I get too lazy or fooling around with friends, but when I notice it impacting my match play, I tense up my muscles just a little bit more in my grip. It not only helps my wrist from moving, it seems to help on slower shots from going out of control.

    WTH? 849 Fargo?

With 300 games and an 849, that is not a very accidental 849, but likely he is closer to 800 than 849. While you may get lucky and win a few games against some good players, 300 games and playing at an 849 level is a whole lotta of run outs. He probably played a bunch of 700/750s and won...

The casino/hotel in general has poor food? A decent restaurant on the higher price side I don't mind, work is footing $50 of meals for me.

    Value of my Meucci?

I got a set of cues from a friend that died young, and I made sure that what I really did not care about keeping went to another friend that I know would keep it and treasure it almost as much as I would have. Selling is OK if not needed, but I would not want to have some random guy 3 states...

League players pre-game rituals and venues.

All depends on how good the tables are. If they are good, where it is does not matter. I have quit leagues to avoid having to play on shit equipment. If they use bar tables with oversize/heavy cueballs, dirt on the balls and table as old as my kids, any slow shot drifts off into the next...

    Intimidation factor.

I don't think I was ever scared to play in public or with good players. In fact, I love it when I am in a new pool hall and the locals are trying to match up their best guy against me. Hearing "he should play Billy" or "if he played John it would be a good match" is a nice ego boost, makes me...

If Jesus comes back as a road player?

I have seen one old god return, and it did not do New York any good, Jesus can stay where he is. But I bet he would be playing 3 Cushion if he is a player.

My first DCC trip this year

This is my 3rd drip to the area, I was there for New Year week and a bit before that. Went to the racetrack, and I may head to Fort Knox in a couple of weeks since I am coming back for our store opening. Visited a couple of distilleries and planning on going to one more, I try to find some...

My first DCC trip this year

I have noticed the area is not that nice. Not what I expected. Had an inner city feel to it, especially the area from the airport heading to Railyard pool hall. I had a pretty basic Chevy sedan as a rental, and I was one of the nicest cars on the road LOL. Not sure why, but there are a lot...

Not sure which is your favorite cue?

Having a "favorite" cue can be as much of a metal boost as an actual physical one, which can mean more wins. Confidence, relaxation, a good mood, are all seeds of success, not just how a cue performs with deflection or cueball action. I have maybe 3-4 shafts that I am very comfortable playing...

    Deflection vs stiffness

This has been a thing people have asked about probably since the 80s, because our world experiences and "feel" tell us that a stiff object will have more of an effect on something than a softer one. A hard baseball bat driving a ball further than a soft one for example. But stiffness does not...

My first DCC trip this year

So, I assumed since the event is "Derby City" Classic, it's in Louisville, or at least Kentucky. It's actually in Indiana???!! LOL I know Indiana is really close to Louisville (one day I had lunch in Indiana, by accident LOL), but still. The bridge location is also interesting, from the...

    NEW Bulletproof Synthetic Playing Tips.

I ordered one, the free tip code still worked. I do have a suggestion; the colors are a bit much for "players". They may attract the kids that think flashy and showing off is good, but most good players like muted equipment that is not so distracting. The red and green tips, at least in...

I purchased a bulletproof recoil tip (red medium) tip and...

I just ordered one to try it, used the free soft tip code from their post, which worked. I have enough shafts to play around with this thing on one. I would suggest that they used some less garish colors, I am not sure I want a bright green or red tip catching my eye during the shot.

Another stupid idea from me …

Why do you need anything to show you that? You can tell where it hit by where the ball went. Center shot, if it goes in the middle of the pocket, you hit it in the middle. Ball goes right, you hit too much to the left on the object ball. You can estimate by how much pretty easily by how much...

    Cutec Cynergy Adapting

I have swapped to LD shafts so long ago that I don't remember exactly, but when I play around with my different shafts, it takes a few days before my playing level is near what it is with my main shafts. For example, I usually play with a Revo or a Z3, I went to a first gen 314 shaft yesterday...

Problem with my shot making: advice needed

If you are putting spin on the ball, you will see that with the cueball spinning. Use a measles ball, training cue ball, or something that will show you the spin easily. I have an issue with putting a bit of left on the cueball (my "center" that my brain tells me, is actually a bit to the left...
