A whole lotta travel going on, places to play/visit?

Yep, I live in MA so it's not very far for me LOL. I won't be in ALL of those places myself, but a good chunk of them. This project is also separate from my new store opening trips so there are some other visits to TN, KY and FL not listed on this map.

A whole lotta travel going on, places to play/visit?

Several times over the past month, but I will not be there again in the foreseeable future. I was pretty busy with work when there. I will be in Jacksonville again on the 19th-21st and in St Johns in a few months.

Match probability calculator, given Fargo ratings

The differences between a race to 50 odds and a race to 100 are negligible. Going by years of experience and "seat of the pants" feel, I think any race of 20 or greater will show up the better player as well as a race to 50 most of the time. Back in the day when pro events had races to 11 and...

A whole lotta travel going on, places to play/visit?

I am in the midst of a project that will take me in quite a few eastern states. If anyone is interested in meeting up to play, or has ideas for pool room or even restaurant or things to see, the stops are numbered LOL I already went through Atlanta, Jacksonville and Orlando area, with a quick...

Who spends the money? Just the money math facts.

I think it goes more by player than room. In my local room there are often players, and sometimes teams, that just show up to play. Some of them even bring in drinks and food to not spend anything extra, despite every place having a policy against it. Other teams and players are always...

Player participation in the US, and Globally

This is good data, I am a bit surprised that many players are in the Fargo system. There are many pool halls and players that assume everyone knows about it, but I have run into many players that don't know what Fargo is, or at least don't have data in it. I do like how it's becoming a...

anybody know anything about this cue

I just found another person to ignore on here, wheeee.. Joined barely 2 weeks ago, let's see how long the ban takes....

    Arguing with experts

I would say that not all cue builders are knowledgeable about all aspects of the cue. For example, several I have seen post here do not understand LD and argue that it is a thing or has any benefits to a player. There are also some material knowledge that is may not be as well-known to them as...

    Simple aiming system cont...

There is a separate section for "aiming systems", this one is already well known. Joe tucker has a video talking about this contact point of lining up and also sold a set of balls made to line up the numbers (locations) of the two balls.

International Open 9-Ball 2024, St. Augustine, FL, Nov. 18-22

    UK Too Slow

Considering you can miss or make a ball by a few hair widths of distance, .1" is fairly large. 4.5 is probably the ideal pocket size for pool, MAYBE 4.25 at the pro tour. The only thing very tight pockets do is make it about impossible for all but 4-5 players to have any chance of finishing...

    Breaker had enough

Not sure if I would call that short of a time "good" for a cue. I have a break cue that is about 20 years old and still looks like new. I put it down to poor construction.

Highest average straight pool points per inning lifetime?

This claim may depend on exactly what was meant. In the US Open 14.1 tournament? In every single game of straight pool they ever played? In any tournament they were in? Tough to get exact numbers for everything, but maybe averaging out a few tournaments would get a correct "official" number...

    WPA wrong ball pocketed

What game and ruleset are you talking about? Can't just assume everyone is talking about the same game since there dozens of cue sport variants. In normal Americal rules pool games, it is not a foul to pocket a wrong ball, it is a foul to first contact the wrong ball. I think maybe in...

Does 3/4 of an oz and 1/2 mm make a difference?

Yes. I can usually tell the difference with a .2 mm difference in diameters, say 12 - 12.2 and for sure with a 12 to 12.5. How the difference is will vary by shaft taper and cue balance point. A lighter cue can feel heavier when shooting due to the balance. The more weight towards the rear...

    Playing by official rules.....

That is a very common rule, calling the 9 is used often to prevent a cheap luck win, but keeps the game closer to 9 ball than playing called shot 10 ball.

    Playing by official rules.....

There is no "purpose" to the rules, the random banger rules you see are just rules passed down from players that don't know the rules to other players that don't know the rules and then half remember what they were told by the players that don't know the rules and end up making up some new...
