That is an interesting thought, pretty much the same thing as playing a push out. You are just calculating the highest chance of a good outcome for you with everything you know about the player and the table you are on. In this case, you are hoping the player goes for the shot and messes up.

I think part of the reason they charge the fee is to try to keep cheating the rating down a bit. If you need to pay to use it, it is not quite as simple to just add a bunch of fake or made up scores to the system.

Try something else. If you look at the data and turns out you miss 75% of shots that show up as 10 mph or that you are hitting the cueball off center and causing random curve or object ball throw, you can work on those specific things. Without specific data points, you may just know you missed...

Yes there is a rule where you can't wait too long to lag with your opponent as you can judge how their speed was and hit yours to possibly do better. The lag has a few rules that many people are not aware of, I end up explaining them to league players, etc... quite often.
