What is your favorite tip to use with a CF shaft, and what hardness do you choose for the tip?

Best tip to use, with ANY shaft, is the one you like. The shafts that the vendor wants to use a pad with, include a pad, so keep the pad if you are changing tips.

    Pro Equipment

I have a pretty decent collection of shafts and cues I mess around with, just never sold many of them when I got something new. But my go-do setup is maybe 2 different shafts and my main custom butt. I do play around with several cues when just playing with friends, and when I travel. I can't...

    Ultimate Pool USA

Don't they have a thing where deliberate fouls are not allowed? Such as hitting the opponent's ball and giving up ball in hand. Under normal pool rules those are OK when done correctly with a legal stroke. I just don't see the need for yet another different ruleset. It's just branding like...

    Kielwood Shaft Search

The keilwood shafts I got from a maker near me uses small screws in the shaft to increase the weight.

    What is your definition..,

I don't see a pro pool player as anything but a skill level title, 750 Fargo and up is about the standard. Without an actual organization, there is no other way to gauge it. If the PBT was around still, then I would say a Pro is someone that was a member of the PBT and played in their events...

    5x10

If you have the space, don't see why not. I played on one several times, it was manageable, but definitely tougher, especially for me being shorter.

    Ultimate Pool USA

Don't they have some match limit time and non-standard rules for fouls and safeties?

    Help Identifying Cue

Looks identical to the Ned Morris I had. Exactly the same colors and design in the rings.

Pool Hall Team Matchups.... has there ever been?

Leagues are basically that, many teams have a "home room" they play out of. I have been trying to do a inter-league tournament for a while, where each league in the area puts their top 3/4/5 people up, but while people think it's a good and fun no-one has been able to arrange it.

    Ultimate Pool USA

Reminds me of what pickleball is to tennis. I like don't like pool with gimmicks and flashy lights.

    Tony Chohan foul

This is a foul that is often overlooked or not known as a foul to a lot of players. Similar to touching a moving cueball (seen more now with the internet and more anal officiating), many players would grab a cueball if they see it not going towards a pocket, with the opponent not saying a word...

    How is this a Joss?

The design on the buttsleve look very Jossy. If I was only shown this design, Joss would be my first guess.

do the pros outweigh the cons when using quality shaft wax?

I have tried random waxes, including the fancy ceramic car waxes, never had issues with it being sticky if you wipe it off properly. One funny thing with wax, I tried some on a good carbon fiber shaft, it made it so slick I had to wipe it all off because it felt un-natural sliding through my...

Has anyone coached a friend through their earbuds?

Sure it's not always possible to prove it. Same as other methods of cheating. It's often easy to break any rule if one does not care about the rules, other people or the consequences. Carjackers, home break-ins, sandbaggers in pool, welfare cheats, all just different levels of immoral...

Has anyone coached a friend through their earbuds?

Can't tell if you are joking or not, coaching rules are set by the league or tournament. None I know of allow this type of thing. In fact, some have started to disallow use of headphones while playing, maybe not for coaching reasons, but to make sure the player is not oblivious to the opponent...

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

I sense... sarcasm... yes, sarcasm is here in the room.

Tip radius and accidental scooping the cue ball on draw shots

Nope, just an "oops", unless as Dr Dave said, if the miscue was intentional. Then it's just a similar foul as any illegal stroke, say lifting up on the cueball instead of shooting in a forward motion. There have been many discussions over the years if some miscues should be seen as a foul...

Exciting Event this week in Pennsylvania - Super Billiards Expo 2025 (4/10-4/13). Who's going?

    GoSports 6' table

What do you mean by "a bit much"? As in too little space to fit, too expensive or too big for the kids? Because really the only thing that would be a good reason not to get a 7 footer, or even an 8 or 9 footer is the space to actually fit it. I have worked with a ton of junior players and we...
