This. I do as little as possible (largely because of my low skill and laziness, but also because if it’s not broke, don’t fix it). Lots of the old cues were 56” one piece, so sometime if they are warped you can combine 2 to make a two peice 58” cue.

I’m not an expert but I have converted and restore ancient Brunswick cues and “old rock” is a fitting name for them, in a good way. I’m always amazed by the dense grain pattern from the lumber that was available in those days.

The writing is in Japanese and says old rock (based on an internet translation). Maybe a custom conversion of an old cue by someone?

That was my solution as well. I don’t play any better than I did when I created this thread but it’s one less thing for me to worry about. Alcohol has a terrible impact on HRV (sometimes for many hours for a single drink) so I avoid it if I’m trying to be competitive.
