That is a common 10-ball rule, but I’ve never heard of that being a rule in 8-ball. In any case, communication is good, and if the other players asked what he was doing he should communicate clearly that he was playing an intentional foul. It sounds like no one there really knew the rules, so 🤷‍♂️

I thought it was partially caused by Filler jumping up to the table right behind Tyler after the miss. Even if Tyler had just sort of gently put his cue behind him as he walked away, it could have come close to Filler. (And, I kinda wish it had jammed Filler right in the mouth.)

It looks like the team match is going on now, and after (finally) getting DAZN working the USA won the first game, but I don’t know who played. Currently Albin is running the table on Sky to tie it up at 1-1.

That makes sense. I don’t think I’ll start carrying both shafts types with me though. ;)

I’ve heard people say something like this quite a bit - that there are certain shots that are easier on high-deflection shafts. That doesn’t make sense to me. It seems that if you want to deflect and swerve with a low-deflection shaft, you could always just aim a little different.

That’s pretty brutal, but my guess is that the players feel the same way, and I can only imagine how furious Emily is right now.

There is no rule that you have to call a pocket. If you're playing a safety you're not going to call a pocket. This was a safety.

Unsportsmanlike conduct would be picking up your opponent's balls and lining them all up against the rail and then saying "you get ball in hand." Hitting a legal shot, even if it's the wrong ball or you don't call a pocket, is not unsportsmanlike conduct in my opinion.

Are you sure he wasn't on the same plane? If all the other players were vaxxed and on the same plane, they could get the same exposure notification, but test negative and then not need to quarantine, while he would still need to quarantine because he wasn't vaxxed.

That explains everything if true. 1. It explains why they seemed to all be on the same flight, because they all got off the same shuttle to the hotel, but only Earl has to quarantine. 2. No, they would be second-order contacts. If everyone who was exposed to someone else who was exposed had to quarantine, it would get close to all of us pretty quick!
