Changing wrap on a classic Adam

Yes, Adam made many Galaxies and Corsair cues. They were good at producing cues.

Changing wrap on a classic Adam

I believe Most Corsairs and Galaxies had black leather wrap, at least those I've seen. But I agree with Michael on this one.

    New Moori Tips

Best Mooris were original, Morri 2, and Morri 3. After that, not so good.

    Tip pick vs Scuffer

Prefer a scuffer, as it can shape the tip if needed.

Pinky on or off during stroke.

Let's not forget Charles Peterson too. Not the sidestroke, but he gripped the handle with pretty much only the thumb and forefinger. These are definitely old-time strokes.

    Rewrap on a Searing cue.

Very common. Believe some call it fine line tape. It slightly builds up the groove to make the wrap flush with the forearm and butt sleeve.

    How is this a Joss?

Other than maybe Schuler, I'm not aware of a cue joint that's been patented. Are they well-known? I think we generally agree though. Tascarella cues are largely similar to Balabushka cues, then other makers did the same thing. Joss and Ginacue had similar designs for some time, though...

    How is this a Joss?

Other than mine, the only one I remember is Jenny's. 867-5309.

    How is this a Joss?

I agree. I think it's ok to do similar designs as various other cuemakers, as there aren't any patents on cues that I know of. However, using another name should be a no-no.

    How is this a Joss?

Oh boy. Never seen that ringwork on a Joss. I guess Joss II means Joss 2.0.

    Repetitive Stress Injury from Pool?

I believe pro George Breedlove dislocated or otherwise injured his shoulder with his strong break. Pool is not injury free, though I would think, more injuries would happen at the bar, rather than the table.

what pros play with maple regular deflection shafts ?

I suspect that Rodney Morris may still be using a traditional cue with regular maple shaft, but even he may have switched.

Old Adam cue - was there an M series?

Can neither confirm nor deny that this cue may have been in the Murrey line. Here's my Murrey pamphlet, with cues, The OP's cue is not one of them. Do agree that it was made by Adam sometime or other, with that pin.

Dan Janes has been dead for a while. Believe his son Steve is still running things.

Pinky on or off during stroke.

Yep, the side arm strokes, as well as modern day Keith McCready. These guys started the game so early they couldn't stand up to the table unless they were using the side arm stroke. I can't think of anybody else that does that.

Pinky on or off during stroke.

Check out pics of Willie Hoppe and Jack Schaeffer Jr. Not only was the pinky not touching, but neither was the ring finger, and sometimes not even the middle finger. Grips were different back then.

Are the new Tariffs on Goods from China going to affect prices on Pool cues?

Agree, but I'd have to add another qualification. Quality of the wood. A nameless country can put out a lot of cues by using inferior wood. Wood not harvested in the right place, not harvested in the right time period, etc. In other words, it might look ok, but it's green. Then the cue can...
