    I Wish Tip Makers Would...

LePros haven't really changed in thickness over the decades. And, the LePros of the 70s, I think were the best.

    I Wish Tip Makers Would...

Agree that there shouldn't be a back ring only two thirds the way down the tip. A tall tip though, I like, because I think the more you play and wear the tip down, the better it plays. The thicker the tip, the more time it has to stabilize. Granted this plays more with the single layered...

Petey Fusco aka "The Fizz" from Philly passes away

Very sad to hear. Saw Pete play one pocked in a 9 ball and one pocket tournament in 2002 in Lanham, Maryland. The crowd sure gathered around Pete to watch.

Any idea what years joss did not put a logo on a butt cap only the in the collar

Butt plate and joint collar are two different things. Butt plate is all the way to the bottom of the cue, and once Bill Stroud could do it, they got engraved on the butt plate. The joint collar, at that time, were the typical boxes and railroad looking crosses at the joint. The name Joss...

Any idea what years joss did not put a logo on a butt cap only the in the collar

Do you mean butt plate, or joint collar? Other than 1968 or so when Bill was practicing engraving, I'm not aware of an original Joss that didn't have the Joss engraving on the butt sleeve. The mid 80s did see the Joss emblem and year on the joint collar.

That's his Rambo. And yeah, he was tough on the shaft in trick shot demonstrations.

    Cue Gallery?

I would have to agree with you. I've put up many, many cues in the cue and case gallery. I've always had good shots of the points, both at the wrap, and at the top of the points. All the best, WW

    Meucci Wrap Question

Maybe not too many guys today, but in the 1980s, the linen look was more popular than today. Not only black, as yours is, but Meucci made a lot of cream-colored wrapped cues with the finish over it. At the time, probably the most expensive cue made was mid-80s Crown cue by Meucci, played and...

    Question for Scruggs experts

The difference was in the method of engraving. Tim's earlier cues had engravings that were filled with either paint or ink. The color did tend to wear over time, especially if the cue was used. Later ones were a smooth technique. Yours is correct.

    Question for Scruggs experts

You are apparently unaware, that Gus Szamboti sometimes put dots on top of the points of his cues. Very fancy cues in some cases. Are you as uninformed as you seem to be?

Can you show us another O'Neil case that looks like this one?

    Question for Scruggs experts

Not with a talented cuemaker such as Tim Scruggs. Maybe some others, but very talented cuemakers put arrowheads, and dots above the points. Even Gus Szamboti put some dots on top of points in some cases.

Information on an O'Neil 1x2 hard case.

Here's what an O'Neil case should look like. Bigger suitcase handle. End pieces are four metal pieces on each corner. To my knowledge, there wasn't a label on the outside of an O'Neil case.

How to remove mildew smell from linen wrap on cue??

A solution of a cup of bleach in a bucket of warm water. Wash rag, wring it out good, not soaking wet. Go over the wrap very gently. Let it dry. Do this a few times, may take awhile. Then after it's good and dry and you're satisfied, either press it good with a glass rod or a shot glass...

    Question for Scruggs experts

Looks like a real Scruggs. In the logo, you're seeing some wear, which often happens. Tim left some space between the points at the wrap, because he set the angles to often do bridged points. That cue shows that. Also, those are very common joint rings that Tim, Bob, and Mike did. All the...

Best Pool Player you saw alive, regardless.

Tie between Luther Lassiter and Mike Sigel. Luther in the 1960s, Mike, in the 1980s. Both unbeatable, and all-around players, not just one type of game.

    Why, other than vanity?

I believe Richard Riggie was too. It was a Scruggs.
