    two questions related to rhythm/stroke

I hear you. like you said, likely got to work on my stroke speed back and forth, and follow-through, too. right now, I'm looking at the angle to the pocket pretty early in my psr- on the table, it might be the first thing I do after surveying the table as a whole I look at that angle, then...

    two questions related to rhythm/stroke

hi fran, ob to pocket- makes sense, and for me😬 like the extended pause is a band aid? works now, but maybe unsustainable moving forward (half a pun) ? will work on bringing cue back more slowly..just do it/practice it, I guess? and I can video. thank you-

    two questions related to rhythm/stroke

thanks, I like the way you put it. this is my instinct as well- just new to me, and figured I'd check here before gluing it in :) again, confidence-building stuff- thank you.

    two questions related to rhythm/stroke

thanks. intellectually, I've been aware of the potential benefits of increasing the length of the pause, but only recently could I actually employ it..interesting

Watching pool from the Philippines on YouTube......

I believe they're using chalk to mark the position of balls that could be physically disturbed I don't think they usually play object ball fouls, but will revert to the balls' original placement, if necessary

    two questions related to rhythm/stroke

in the past, I've often looked at the shot line before shooting tough/off-angle shots recently, I've felt that I could benefit from doing this as part of my psr/before every shot- the only disadvantage I can see to this is potentially disrupting my rhythm- wondering if y'all agree? I don't want...

the pleasures of reading the "pleasures of small motions"

a little impressive to hear/read, especially given how much good stuff I'm finding in "pleasures," but understandable personally, I read the "inner game" when I was a tennis player, and then later as a pool player, never been a fave tho that's life, I guess..we can find trash/treasure just about...

the pleasures of reading the "pleasures of small motions"

over time I'd heard of this one, finally went to the library a few weeks ago and grabbed a copy so far I've only skipped around the thing..it's dense! ironic I picked it up and thought it flimsy but every page I land on offers something, and not just for pool players- there's life stuff in...

    a reason for miscue/mis-aim- ?

thanks bob, makes sense. I've already got blind cuts on my list! especially aiming at the outside of the object ball..for some reason those shots throw me (zing?)

    a reason for miscue/mis-aim- ?

hi bob, appreciate you following up, and good timing! I'm getting my first ever proper lesson on sunday, from JJ! he's gonna be in the pnw for the northwest cup event, so the local hall snagged him for a few days of lessons as an instructor, can you tell me what I can do to be prepared as...

    Determining a Match Statistical Shooting % ?

great questions- I've been keeping personal stats of my sparring sessions, and was just this week wondering about how to score kicks and safes don't know how accu-stats and them do it, but for myself I decided to count a good safe as a ball made, a bad safe as a ball missed, etc.

Why are some players using cue extensions for shots they don’t need to reach?

dennis did take it off- good catch, good sam. otherwise, not sure how shooting off the rail would be benefitted by added length/weight in the back ? especially using an open bridge..if anything, adding weight in front of the balance point seems appropriate

lack of fundamentals or lack of practice?

hi brian, I'd be curious to learn more about your friends' progression did *they* start out very young? how long did it take them to go from 500 to 600, on up? besides keeping up with the game, does anything stand out to you as to why they were able to elevate their pool?

For all the negative Shane talk...

didn't read the thread, but was just thinking the other day how admirable shane's consistency has been at/near the very top he won the US open for the first time fifteen years ago, and of course was crowned world champ just a few months ago not to mention a few titles in between..I think shane's...
