I was looking to have a custom made with bocote collars and butt cap. Does anyone have any experience stabilizing bocote for collars or caps? Does it stabilize well? I know bocote is a stable and strong wood in it's natural state. Is it strong enough or should I have it stabilized? The collars...
76th World Championship and the promoter/pro pool player can't spell Dennis Orcollo's name? It's not like he's new on the scene. He's been one of the world's greatest players for a while now. Make pool great again.
I first posted this in the cuemakers section but was hoping to get a little more help. Maybe it's just not out there but any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for the material in post 5 of this thread. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=297501. I'm told by some that...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for the material in post 5 of this thread. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=297501. I'm told by some that it's basically extinct. I'm trying to match some wood opposite a hoppe ring for a butt cap as well as some joint collars. No...
$65 Firm. This new 2x2 vinyl case is pretty slick looking. They stopped making it 5-6 years ago and it hasn't been available to purchase for a while. It's been sitting in plastic because my longer butt with long pin doesn't fit in it. It will hold a cue or shaft 30.5 inches.
$65 shipped USPS...
I just wanted to say that the people I dealt with at Schmelke Cues were great. They had my custom cue
shipped to my door within a month and I'm very happy with it. You can't beat their prices...not even China.
If you want to support a great company that's been doing it right for a long time...
SOLD Piloted 5/16x14. 3.8 oz. Straight. My calipers read 12.5 at the middle of the ferrule. There is some coning near the tip from tip changes. It reads 12mm. Original ferrule, it's in good shape. I played with it for a while. It hits much better than the later generation.
SOLD shipped usps...
Sold. The cue weighs 18.1 oz. My calipers read 12.9mm at the ferrule. 5/16x18 flat-faced joint. The tip was changed to a lepro. The shaft has a taper roll but certainly nothing that would affect play. The handle is skinnier than most cues. The balance is somewhat forward compared to other...

No trades, Thank-you
Thank-you everyone for your help. I've noticed that PVC ferrules found on
cheaper cues often have relatively low deflection. Would XTC or another
material be close to PVC? Why is it that cue makers don't seam to use PVC?
According to the dzcues ferrule weight chart, it is relatively...
I'm looking at having a shaft made with one of these ferrule materials. I want a solid maple shaft 12.8mm.
I was thinking about a .75" long uncapped ferrule with a 3/8x24 tenon or a 5/16x18 tenon. I'd like to minimize
deflection as much as possible while still having a solid shaft that I...

I don't find his switching cues at all odd personally. Everyone points to the similarities between golf and pool. Why not have different cues for different
shots? I switch between my low deflection shaft and standard shaft easily depending on which one I feel like grabbing out of the closet...
