DigiBall is a cue ball that is for training purposes. It wirelessly transmits detailed information every single time you strike the cue ball to your phone, tablet or laptop. The data is captured and reformatted into meaningful information that lets you know what you are doing correctly and...

Do you want to see some beautiful cues?

In the Main Forum, anything pool related is fine and you can post in the Cue Gallery and Main Forum concurrently. The For Sale section has strict requirements for all threads & subsequent posts. Indeed, it is a handsome pool cue.

Commentators talking about anything but the match in front of them

The Oneida WPA 8 Ball World Championship that was held 4th of July week suffered the same fate with male announcers. They rambled, meandered, interviewed guests during which time they never commented on the match underway. I could have done a better job and I don’t know much about announcing...

    Pool Chalk……Constantly Evolving……..What’s the Future?

I was a big fan until I tried TAOM and that’s what Pagulayan chalk is but in a much better shape, i.e.,cube vs. oval.

    Pool Chalk……Constantly Evolving……..What’s the Future?

If you chalk every shot, it kinda does matter because you deposit chalk on the cloth when stroking the cue ball. And Masters does the same thing as TAOM which is to create friction but it accomplishes it releasing the chalk you just applied to your cue tip. It doesn’t just float away and the...

    Pool Chalk……Constantly Evolving……..What’s the Future?

I just think that for about $11 if you haven’t tried TAOM, this may be your best economic opportunity to get some. If you apply it correctly by swiping or brushing the chalk on your cue tip, it should last a year or cost <$1 per mth. Anytime you can get a product you already like and use for 50%...

    Pool Chalk……Constantly Evolving……..What’s the Future?

When I first walked in a pool room in 1961, I was in total awe of the number of pool tables and so many pool cues on the wall racks. It was a new experience having only played in the basement or gymnasium of the local school’s summertime activities programs. When I picked up my first rack of...

Hey Cuetec, please make a Cynergy CF shaft in 12.25mm-12.3mm

Do you really look at your cue when you play? I have a few handsome pool cues, IMO. I never look at my cue designs after removing a cue from my cue case. All I see is the top hall of the shaft and ferrule when I shoot. I don’t look at the forearm of butt sleeve again until I put my cue away. The...

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

A very succinct but highly apropos explanation that I happen to wholeheartedly agree with.

1990’s Adam Japan cue wtb joint protectors

You can get a set of protectors on eBay or any pool supply store. If you want custom made protectors, try Jim Baxter. He’ll likely have some made. For simple functionality, a inexpensive plastic set works & wood is a bit more.

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

i do not fully appreciate your analogy as you likely intended but I will concede that shots become harder further apart.

Pool rooms still harbor a Music Man Movie like stigma in the minds of a certain segment of our population.

    Pool and Race

I read the original post (#1) and jumped right here without reading anyone else’s comments. This is a a tar baby issue but here’s my take. In Fresno, Black, Hispanic, Asian pool players abound and on many nights are the predominant patrons. I believe, and I want to, that local demographics are a...

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

I must disagree to some extent because 7’ tables tend to make shots easier for weaker players from bank shots to cut shots and especially……slopping in the 9 ball any pocket. Heck, in APA, even when playing 8 ball all slop shots count, except for marking your pocket on the 8 ball. I have lost...

    Draw Shot

If you didn’t stroke the cue ball in a sharp downward angle, you’d wind up scooping the cue ball trying to draw it or else you’d be pushing the cue ball that’d be another foul. A double kiss has to be avoided using a short nip short so you have to remove the cue fast.

    Tascarella or Scruggs

If you could get the cue built the way you like, the specs you want especially the cue joint, then it’s a dead heat. However, you don’t see a lot of face faced big pin ivory joints made by Tascarella versus piloted steel or else sleeved ivory. Those tend to be a little more firm hitting than...

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

For a true, fair comparison, even the tables should be the same specifications, i.e., size, cloth, rail height & pocket size. 7’ tables are hardly the test of your pool skills and I’ve proven that to myself. On a 7’ table, my best run in 9 ball was 3 consecutive runouts and I missed on the 7...

Why Pool Leagues Should Embrace “ALL BALL FOULS”

Remember what I earlier wrote……..for the integrity of the game………and that’s what rules are intended to do. You are entitled to take your clubs, go to a golf course with friends & make up whatever game or rules you want. As long as you do not negatively impact pace of play, no one really cares...
