Wow $50+ per night? That's nuts. The resort fee's can really catch you out if you are not expecting it to be added to your bill when you get there.

This is true. The one plus I have noticed in recent years, is that the hotel resort fees have been dramatically reduced at most Vegas hotels, which is huge. It was up to $38 a night at a lot of the hotels, which was daylight robbery.
