Jerry's Billiards, Pasadena, CA - Another one biting the dust?

the totalitarian dictatorship of CA strikes again. If the pool hall owner was friends with the mayor, or in the local " good ol boys club", there would be no issue.

Time for a LD shaft but not sure which one

pechauer rogue! I dont know why they arent more popular. If you dont see your joint style on their site, they will just make you one. I absolutely love mine. It hits just like my old maple shaft. No strange "ping" or metallic sound, like with other cf shafts. That is why i went with the rogue. I...

i filmed myself shooting. I Dont like what I see

the same happens with me. When I am just practicing, with no pressure, my focus isnt there. Definitely more sloppy. I can ask someone to film me playing a match. When it is not my turn at the table, they can just aim the phone down so the other player isnt being filmed.

i filmed myself shooting. I Dont like what I see

i tried the "holding the cue at the balance point" thing that thorsten does, and it doesnt really seem to work reliably, at least for me. He said if you are right handed, the cue will go to the left. Sometimes the cue goes to the left slightly, but it really just seems to stay facing straight...

    The Sardo Rack

Im surprised you have had bad service from them. I use their ki-tech tip and hammerhead tip, and have spoken to them on the phone several times, im assuming the man who answers is chris renfro. I called him as recently as a few days ago. Always nice and helpful. Maybe they have improved since...

    The Sardo Rack

but then again, with the template, when balls roll over it, they can do a full on wobble and change course. The most hilarious complaining about the templates I have ever heard was jimmy matayas commentary in the andy mercer memorial tournament, which is on youtube. He said the magic rack would...

    The Sardo Rack

i remember those days. Mitch lawrence and dawn hopkins in the comment booth, pool on espn, and the sardo tight rack. I like the standard, wooden rack. I dont like plastic ones, and I dont like the templates. i guess im old school.

i filmed myself shooting. I Dont like what I see

I finally decided to prop my phone up, and film myself shooting. I dont like what I see. My stroke is wobbly and looks terrible. I had no idea how bad it was. I feel good shooting, and do get good results. I have been playing for 18 years, and am the 2nd/3rd best player on my league out of 40...

Where do you break from for 8 ball?

    Steinway

Im in MA and the only pool hall within an hour of me had their lease illegally terminated and got thrown out of the building. She tried to save her business, but Someone with a lot of money and connections to the local good ol boys club made her go away.

    I want a new cue

They special ordered the wood I wanted. I had it made as a 54" cue with no sleeve and the wrap going to the bottom cap, with a optional 4" butt extension, and a stain color that they stopped using on their cues 10 years ago. Its Custom enough for me. I dont think ill come across someone else...

Is this a Lousy wrap job?

i had a custom cue maker in albany NY put a new tip on for me yesterday. He explained the wrapping process, what the little divots are, and said my cue has a very nice wrap job. He said OB did a good job making this cue.
