Update......Sure-Man said he thought it was a different Gus and he was confused so he offered me $12,000 instead. Cues is still for sale for $13,500

That is really interesting and something that I had not considered before. When I was coming up over 50 years ago, anything under 20 ounces felt almost like a toy. I guess the times are a changing........

Mine is 20 1/4 oz. Is that considered too heavy now?

They had an alternating shot partners tournament at The Western Bowl on a weeknight I cannot remember which night that had a ton of entries. I remember winning that one time with Gary Spaeth as my partner which always helped :)

I am in Ohio but not in the Cincinnati area. I did live there in the late 1970's and hung out at a place called Geri's Palace in Blue Ash and played some at The Western Bowl in Cincinnati

Gary Spaeth and his dad Joey Spaeth were the ones that put a word in with Gus for me so I could get one made in the 1976 area

That is what I had been led to believe which is why I had to wait a very long time to get my order finished

That raises an interesting question. Did Gus have a group of dealers that marketed and sold his cues for him as well as being able to do an individual sale straight from Gus as I did 45 years ago?

As a mathematician, I find the distribution of Gus Szamboti cues interesting to ponder. For example, how many of them ended up in Japan when they were buying up everything? How many remain in the USA? How many larger collectors in the USA have say 25 of them? At one point 40 years ago they were...

I guess rewording this would be....How many people that bought their Gus Szamboti directly from Gus still own that cue?

I wonder how many of the 1200 cues he made are still one owner cues? Less than 10% maybe??

I was certainly curious that maybe with all the stimulus checks and the trillions of dollars added to the economy that people might once again be buying these higher-end Gus Szamboti cues. Thanks again to all of you that have direct messaged me with helpful comments

I have posted the pictures I was able to find on my computer. I will go and get the cue from the bank and take some more from different angles, etc this week hopefully
