    Pool Ball Collecting.

Thank you. I found what appear to be Brunswick Centennials in a Harvard box. Going to pick them up now.

Has anyone ever heard of Harvard Billiard Balls? If so, worth pursuing? Thanks, jv

    Home Table Accessories Help

Folks should get what they want, what makes them happy. I always wanted a Gold Crown, and I'm very happy with it. I also want the "standard," 5" pockets, because it's a family and friends entertainment table, not a serious competitors' table. That said, it's still not "easy;" we still rattle...

    Home Table Accessories Help

I have a Brunswick Gold Crown with gray Simonis 860 on it, and I haven't noticed any eye strain problems, and there's plenty of contrast with the balls. So, works good, I think. Master chalk is available in over a dozen colors, I think (even though the manufacturer only lists eight on its site).

    GC I counter therapy?

Hey, check this out, from the booklet called "Gold Crown Model Billiard Table Specifications," "Effective April 1, 1963:" So, chrome is original, I guess, though mine aren't "satin."

    Flying with your cue

We should lobby our Senators and Representatives, and even our Executive to have the FAA, TSA (or whatever regulatory agency) to change this policy. People routinely carry canes onto airplanes, and I carried a full-length umbrella home from Japan - no problem! Tennis racquets are allowed, with...

Gold Crown I - Cover Slate Bolt Holes?

The holes he's talking about here aren't rail bolt holes, they are the holes in the slate for the wood screws attaching it to the frame. On my GC I they are, indeed, out of play, but you can feel them, and I suppose in some cases one might notice them, but I would only think rarely. What...

    New cloth suggestions ... ?

It's interesting that no one has suggested that one of these Far East cloths might be better than Simonis, regardless of price. I learned a lesson about price and quality. I had a 2006 BMW X3. That car was great, when everything worked. By the time I had to dump it, when it was 10 years...

HOW TO REPLACE A CUE TIP … No Special Tools Required

I'm surprised this thread hasn't turned towards the various cue tip maintenance tools out there. One would think that by now, by 2021, there would be a superbly functioning, quality tip tool, for installing, cutting, shaping, etc. But, alas, to my knowledge there is not.

    Best (budget-orientated) Worsted Felt

Thanks very much. I found a supplier of this who's selling it at a very low price, so I wrote to ask if the rails have writing. I saw in reply to an Amazon review that the maker had decided to remove the writing, in response to customer complaints. Could be the stuff I saw was clearance of...

Is the CPBA Competition available without the writing on the rail pieces? Thanks, jv

I'm pretty sure it prevents, or retards, mushrooming of the tip.

The chrome plating - so, maybe that's why I had to re-tap the threaded holes in the back.
