    GC I counter therapy?

BTW, do you know the correct colors for the name plate on the head rail? I have a metal plate, but the paint is mostly worn off.

    Fixing old GC rail counters

Hey there @slach , can you comment on the finish on those counters, is it polished aluminum or chrome plated?

    GC I counter therapy?

Is that so? Wow, I had no idea. The previous owner must have replaced mine, then, or had them chrome plated.

Thanks. That's how they came from the factory; I believe they are all like that.

    GC I counter therapy?

I apologize that I didn't take any pics of the underside before I installed them. It's a bit of pain to take them out, but if I do, I'll post some pics. The action is a bit stiff, but perfectly consistent across the wheels with the stock springs, straightened out to their factory...

HOW TO REPLACE A CUE TIP … No Special Tools Required

This is great, thank you Dave for posting, and Bob for your input to Dave. I confess it reminds me of those videos of kids in Pakistan making AK-47s with the crudest of implements, on the floor of their workshops. :) I did want to mention that for a lot less money than just one of those fancy...

    Ball cleaner project

Imitation - copying - is the way that technology and tools, art and architecture, engineering, medicine, music, and virtually everything that separates man from beast, advances throughout the ages. This even occurs in the animal kingdom. It is perfectly natural, and absolutely necessary to our...

Thanks! Interesting. Still doesn't really appeal to me. I wonder what percentage of table owners have ball polishers?

    Ball cleaner project

The OP did a beautiful job. Thanks for sharing! I was wondering what other kinds of ball cleaners/polishers exist. What the OP built is what we in the product and invention field call the "dominant design." It's the same, basic thing that almost all ball polishers embody, a turntable with...

Gold Crown I - Cover Slate Bolt Holes?

Trent, it is possible to communicate your views and expertise without being rude and arrogant. In fact, folks would be more willing to listen, and to take you seriously.

Gold Crown I - Cover Slate Bolt Holes?

I don't see anything wrong with using plaster of paris or water putty or beeswax on table slates. I think Bondo is a mistake, though I've heard folks promote it. Why would plaster of paris be bad? Brunswick recommended it and used it for years. I'd like to hear cogent arguments against it.

Gold Crown I - Cover Slate Bolt Holes?

From the GC I Service Manual (assembly manual): "With the table completely level, fill all slate cracks, chips and screw holes with the fast setting plaster of paris material furnished with each shipment. When dry, sand smooth and thoroughly clean slate with bench or dust cloth."

You obviously know next to nothing about intellectual property law. First, is there any protected, or protectable IP in the Diamond machine? Also, did you know that making something for yourself does not violate anyone's IP rights. Holy cow.

Questions about antique Brunswick snooker table

Why would you have to re-profile the rails on a snooker table? I thought the rubber was "L"-shaped, and therfore the rails having a square corner to which they are glued. Not like the angles of an older pool table. Please explain.
