in every conceivable discipline, too. but he does seem to have a dip right now. it will be interesting to see how he fares in the coming months, including derby
wei wei won the women's open (i thought it was a WC, but apparently not) after edging out rubilen in the final. tight and quite scrappy from what i saw
up next for shane is alex kazakis in the semifinals. another matchup with some history (world pool masters final iirc?).
the other semifinal is current champion biado vs either lil ko or szolnoki
strong pull through by yapp in L16. he had the crowd against him up until the last ball dropped in the shootout.
not much rest today, yapp vs svb in progress
the crowd being heavily on his side doesn't seem to hurt his chances. up 1-0 against yapp now
edit: 110k viewers on youtube (it's still work hours in vietnam but i bet they're sneak watching at work like myself)
he has beaten shane at a world 10b championship too, and they may meet again in the QF. he has to overcome yapp though, which seems impossible these days
he did that when he was playing chamat's tournament here, just raked the balls earlier and earlier in each rack the opponent ran until he raked them right after the guy's break. worked himself into concession.
filler v hoang is a barn burner. big crowd, tense, and the pressure on both is palpable. the crowd is fairly respectful. filler takes the first 4-1 after only one missed ball.
