    new Predator?

I got a revo 12.4 set up it is decent don't get me wrong but the shaft "hit" doesn't feel like or sound like wood at all. Before you take the plunge i highly recommend trying out a jacoby black shaft. It's got a solid thud sound and they are very well-made. Whatever you decide I would be wary...

What table size for room size

I agree with your statement overall. Sometimes though it's a tough call. You can end up right on the line and it can be tough to choose. My width was like 14.3- 14.5 depending on where I was measuring and 29 feet in length. Obviously no issue length wise but I was tight on a 9 width wise. I was...

My 10’ Brunswick Centennial Completed Restoration

Nice Tim, I almost bought an old Brunswick Regina to restore, but decided to go the diamond route instead. I want to play on an older sorted Brunswick to see how they play. They sure look pretty.

    Break Cue Features and Justification

Break cues really come down to feel and preference. I like 21 oz for me personally but some go much lighter or heavier. Try as many as you can or go thru a site like pool dawg that has a return policy. Phenolic tips do a great job at transferring energy and the tip on mine may outlast me, lol...

What table size for room size

I am with you on this. Growing up the table I had in my parents basement was too big for the room and it just felt cramped especially when people came over. Getting the shorty out every rack was super annoying. I don't understand why people hate on 7 ft tables (especially since Diamond makes a...

You can take lessons from the best pro ..

Tor's Lowry would be top on my list for 1:1 instruction. He is a great teacher. Watching the people that go thru his comprehensive boot camp show major improvements in every aspect of their game.

What table size for room size

Just my .02. You don't have the length for 9 foot or an 8 foot. If you can't increase the building size I would go 7 ft. Short cues ruin the experience at least for me. You want 5 feet minimum on all sides. Good rule of thumb.

    Ariel Carmelli cues?

Very solid hit. The only thing I didn't like about mine were the shafts were pretty beefy. Bar tender knocked mine over and that was that. If I still had it I would have turned the shafts down and put a softer tip on it. Build quality seemed decent. Slight veneer bleeding on points on the one I...

Who is known to make the most forward balanced cue "butt"??

May wanna try out a mezz with their SWS weight system. You can adjust the weight of the SWS shafts with different bolts. I just have a standard sigma shaft with an EC9 butt. It is a very balanced cue.

    Matchroom events

I am really starting to like these matchroom events. Production value keeps getting better and better. They still have some weird audio issues here and there, but they are running at a high level imo. 4 inch pockets make for some interesting play and I love the winner break format/shot clock. I...

dumping the break cue and feel liberated!!!

Ya I agree with this just on my "felt observations" my playing cues are at are right under 19 oz's. My breaker is around 21.5. I do not hammer the cue ball on break shots, especially 9 ball. Tip placement on the cue ball, aiming right where you want with the object ball in the racks, with a...

dumping the break cue and feel liberated!!!

I love my break cue. It was one the best $200.00 pool-related purchases I have made. With the phenolic tip will likely out live me and I hate the vibration I get on using my one of my cheaper house cues. YMMV

Black rubber residue from ball return

I have found the more I play the less power I use. Slow is smooth and smooth is accurate. YMMV

Black rubber residue from ball return

Lol, same. It's when I get pissed and really hit a ball hard I actually have the ball hit the liner. It's kind of a good barometer if your hitting to hard imo. They shouldn't be smacking against the liner very often.

Black rubber residue from ball return

I get some marks on mine. I think as others have alluded to it appears to be the liners. I just run mine thru the ball polisher every couple of weeks they come right off.

Who is a fan of 60" cues?

I am around 6'2 I like longer cues at 58 I am gripping the very end of the cue fairly frequently on a 9ft table. Some of this admittedly is caused by poor position play. The 2 inches can def a make big difference playing on a full size table.
