Ok guys, how do you tell which tips out of a box of 50, are good or bad. I heard droping them, one at a time into a glass of water. If they sink quicklly,they are fine, if not, they are no good. This was for triangle tips, dont know about le pro. Is there another technique?

Has anyone ever purchased one of the mini lathes from harbor freight? I wanted to get another lathe for just tips and ferrules, but I called and asked them if there was an opening on the left side to put the shaft through and they said there wasn't. They didn't seem to intelligent on the phone...

Flex tubing I did the same exact thing, the only thing I am worried about is putting to much pressure on the female part of the shaft. If I don't clamp it tight enough, the shaft can actually work its way back into the chuck. Just don't wont to mess up a $250 shaft.

Here is another problem I have run into. My lathe came with a few of the standard drive pins. 5/16-18-14,3/8-10,etc. I ordered more drive pins at $35 a pop, and i still needed more. I even bought joint protectors for some shafts. Amazingly I still get shafts, i don't have a drive pin for...

I was planning on playing in the bca solo tourneys in vegas this may. I was told that there are solo events 24/7. Does anybody know what the entries are and about what they pay out, so I don't waste a trip out there. Played in too many tourneys where the pots were slashed. Thanks for any info.

Money I understand, but I have played in weekly handicap tournaments where first place paid around a thousand dollars. This is a US Open tournament.

entry fees The entry was $100, if you signed up when you got there, and 10 dollars cheaper if you called ahead of time, but there wasn't many of early entries. I know they paid a quarter of the field, but they still took out a third of the money.
