    Anyone tried this new game?

The part about the opponent choosing the most difficult shot seems too advanced for most players. This limits interest in play to much more experienced and skilled players only. Take that rule out and it may be a fun family type game. I'm always looking for ways to make the table more FUN for...

    Back to Pyro vs. V10?

I see the Pyro also cake a bit and occasionally see a spot of it on the cue ball. It comes off easily, and I agree it's less messy on the table, but I'm not a fan of a $20.00 piece of chalk. When it's used up (in a few years :-) ) will not buy more.

    'Vision Center' by Beeler...

Yes. Watched every second. It just didn't help me. I did the same thing looking down the rail along the cloth line. I felt like it was telling me more of what I SHOULD be doing rather than what I AM doing. What I mean by that, is that I couldn't really tell what I would have done naturally...

    'Vision Center' by Beeler...

This video talks about his concept of vision center but it doesn't really teach you how to FIND your center. He references the mirror trainer he sells and I see that would work. Personally I think he is among the best living Billiards instructors but this particular video didn't help me much.

Yes. "New Old Stock". That set hasn't been made in quite a few years. To find a new unused set is quite a find!

    Poll: Pool Ball Cleaning

Honestly, this depends on how they are cleaned. The alcohol / Aramith mixture leaves the balls more "squeaky clean" than Aramith alone and they actually are very clean, but throw quite a bit more. Dr. Dave did a really good video on throw impact of various cleaning methods. His video showed...

    Cues As Investments

Collect any "thing" that interests you for the sake of your enjoyment. If you want an investment, you go to a fee only financial advisor. The only "investment value" of collectable items like pool cues is the value you ascribe to them to keep your spouse from smacking you in the head with a...

The REAL Cost of CF Shafts

But haven't CF shafts been out for quite a while? I guess my question is from my recent purchase of my J. Flowers cue w CF shaft and nice inlay for less than just the cost of the shaft alone from Viking where I was going to have one fitted to my current cue. I would have PREFERRED that option...

Aramith Cleaner left balls with spots

Very fair post. After a bad experience it makes sense to be cautious. I have been using this w my Claen Gleem for several months with good results. I now have just a bit of visible cleaner residue on the cleaning strips. The machine seems to be cleaning BETTER. As time goes on, if the residue...

The REAL Cost of CF Shafts

What makes a CF shaft so expensive? These shafts cost more than many nice cues with maple shafts, even maple LD shafts. Is this just supply and demand? Marketing? Material cost? Complexity of manufacture? Asking for a frined :-) From a material perspective, the carbon fiber blank and...

Aramith Cleaner left balls with spots

I hope your results are what you are looking for. It seems to me that if you apply Aramith cleaner, then wipe it all off by hand, the machine wouldn't even be needed? What difference in the balls do you see from the machine after you have done step 1 of applying and step 2 of removing before...

Aramith Cleaner left balls with spots

While I understand that, the 100% Aramith clogs the cleaner much more quickly. The mixture described in a cleaning machine is a really nice balance of outstanding consistency and clean / polished balls without gumming up the cleaning pads.

Aramith Cleaner left balls with spots

When the alcohol and aramith mixture I mentioned is spryed on while the machine is running, it seems the alcohol keeps the Aramith from settling on the balls. Very unscientific, but I just opened a new box of Dynaspheres and right from the box they have the same squeaky clean feel of balls...

Aramith Cleaner left balls with spots

ANY Cleaner that affects "the first few racks" and then returns to "normal" is moving residue on the balls to become residue on the table. Over time, that is not a good thing. Also, it requires compensation in aim and stroke to accommodate the changing condition of the balls. Consistency in...

My New J.Flowers J20-21 cue First Impressions

"A lot more"? Where is your scientific evidence for this? This is just my opinion, but I feel it is correct based on the physical properties of carbon fiber and wood... Honestly, to measure RELATIVE deflection between carbon fiber shafts under different brands is almost impossible. Even Dr...

My New J.Flowers J20-21 cue First Impressions

I was very unaware of this. The jflowescues.com site looks very legit, and the person I purchased from is a respected long standing business. The manufacturer should have at least sold the good products (unless the designs are also proprietary) and changed it to their own brand and name...
