    Dime vs Nickel tip

Another consideration: Even with a low bridge the cue is angled down for draw, which tilts the miscue limit a little higher off the cloth, making hitting too low more likely. pj chgo

Hitting below the miscue limit. pj chgo

    Draw Shot

I didn't know that's what you were asking. Isn't hitting straight into a frozen CB/OB illegal? If you're talking about the millisecond of tip/ball contact, of course you can't do anything without that - but "follow through" is usually assumed to mean after contact. pj chgo

    Draw Shot

Yes. For instance, a known technique for avoiding a double hit when the OB is too close is to run the grip hand into the rail to stop follow through. Unless you're talking about the 1/16" or so of "follow through" during tip/ball contact... pj chgo

    Dime vs Nickel tip

Yes, but the difference is so small it hardly matters. Here's an old post of mine about that... pj chgo

    Dime vs Nickel tip

Actually, unless your tip is too flat, you only use the edge of your tip with maximum English. pj chgo

    Dime vs Nickel tip

I was about to post this pic (which I made years ago) to show that tip width and curvature are related: smaller tips need sharper curves to avoid hitting on their edge when applying maximum spin. There’s no other practical difference (except maybe a little less squirt with a smaller tip). pj chgo

    Fractional Aiming/Cue Ball

I'm sure it can be made to work either way with familiarity, but it seems to me that aiming with the center of the CB makes it more likely that the cue will be on or near that line. pj chgo

    WWYD if Earl

But if you leave the CB near the long rail at (or past!) the side pocket then the cut on the 6 risks a scratch in the opposite corner. pj chgo

    WWYD if Earl

I think the ideal route from the 5 is off the end rail directly toward the 6 - a perfect angle all the way. pj chgo

Pretty big speed error if so. Maybe just trying to miss the 9 on his way to center table and overdoes the inside? pj <- Earl's shots aren't all pearls chgo
